For the Sema Auto Show in Las Vegas 2019 (Tue, 5. Nov. 2019 - Fri, 8. Nov. 2019) Tuner Mopar will present a spectacular 1968 pickup from the Dodge D200 series as a Restomod project. And the name of the vehicle is called “Lowliner Concept”, which of course has a very special reason. The classic pickup is massively lowered with a three-way adjustable air suspension and also got 22 inches Smoothie-Look- "steel rims". The exact dimensions are 9,5 × 22 inches at the front and 11 × 22 inches at the rear and the wheelset is equipped with huge 285/35 tires on the front axle and even fatter 325/35 tires at the rear. But the body in particular has clearly changed. The Mopar technicians have moved this forward on the frame in the front area by almost eight centimeters and thus extended the wheelbase.

In addition, the rear wheel arches on each side are widened by each 5 inch, so that there is enough space for the large 22 aircraft and all components of the air suspension. And those who look at the loading area see that this too is different. Mopar has moved the floor 15 centimeters upwards with the help of a new cargo area works Dodge Ram 1500. One must first come to that! And also in front something is different. Opening the bonnet moves the entire front and a look at a rebuilt 5,9-liter Cummins diesel is possible. It is coupled to a manual six-speed manual transmission that is controlled by a low-level shift lever. Unfortunately, the power we do not know goes exclusively to the rear wheels and should probably be identical to that of a current V8 RAM. After all, the engine is completely rebuilt and equipped with loads of tuning components.

"Dairy Cream" and "Candied Delmonico Red"

The rest of the bodywork is extreme clean and two-tone design. The steel rims, front and rear bumper and grille are finished in "Dairy Cream" and they create a nice contrast to the finish in "Candied Delmonico Red". The lowliner has no door handles, there is no gas cap, the antenna is gone and even original logos and logos are not visible. There are on the front fenders printed Mopar badges. And typical Restomod of course there were modern components. Standing in front of the pickup, the eye is caught by the seven-inch LED headlights and also at the rear, new lights are equipped with the latest technology.

Leather as far as the eye can see

In contrast, the cabin is less spectacular. Here you rely on familiar and so the D200 retains the original seat (Leather upholstery in Blazing Saddle Tan) and the original steering wheel. Everything was newly covered with leather and also the cowhide headliner and the carpets are new. On the dashboard there was still a chic aluminum plate that accommodates seven instruments.
