Fantastic: 615 hp Dodge Viper ASC McLaren Diamondback!

We've never heard of the Dodge before Viper ASC McLaren Diamondback heard! You? Probably not, since only one SRT-10 coupe has ever been converted by American Specialty Cars. And the vehicle was recently sold in an online auction. The custom Viper was unveiled at what was then the Detroit Auto Show in 2006, and while it started life as the standard Viper, it's far from it. Namely, American Specialty Cars (ASC) changed the look of the vehicle, giving the snake a new color called Arctic Ice Pearl with accents in "Viper Blue" and "McLaren Orange" was painted on the body. Everything was combined with a large number of visible carbon parts included front splitter, roof, bonnet, sill panels, side ventilation openings and the complete rear apron.

The new body parts have reduced weight by almost 50 kilograms. In addition, the Viper on 19-inch Copperhead alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires in size 275/35 at the front and 345/30 at the rear. The wheels also ensure a reduced weight. And by another 15 kilograms. The chassis is lowered a bit and behind the chic rims there is a reinforced Brembosports brake system with Viper logos on the saddles. And then there was the engine. Under the hood, of course, sits the mighty 8,0-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine, which, however, is open from McLaren Performance Technologies Suction funnel got donated. With a few other changes, the engine should shake 615 hp out of the sleeve and the manual six-speed gearbox is still installed. Nothing has changed on the rear-wheel drive, either locking differential responsible for the drive.

With a tailor-made Sports exhaust system made of stainless steel, the hardware changes are rounded off. The interior, on the other hand, is largely dreary series. the Bucket seats with leather/Alcantara combination are with blue ones Harness belts of the Willans brand. But that was it. With 615 hp and an unladen weight of less than 1.500 kilograms, the ASC Diamondback Viper accelerates to 3,47 km/h in 100 seconds.

The Bring a trailer Description also speaks of a clean Carfax report and allegedly the Viper moved only 80 miles (approx. 129 km) since purchase. The selling price of $166.777 was almost cheap at that point. By the way: The slogan at the time was: A snake with a completely new skin!
