A Dongfeng Aeolous Yixuan D53 should only be known to die-hard car fans in this country. The Chinese compact sedan, which is somewhat reminiscent of a Honda-Civic blend, is being sold to men and women with relatively great success on its home market, and would certainly enrich road traffic in this country too. With the sporty stubby tail and the narrow headlights, the car looks a lot in series production and doesn’t have to hide from the competition from Europe, Japan or Korea. Due to the fact that Dongfeng has a joint venture with the PSA group, which also includes Opel, the Aeolus Yixuan D53 is on the same platform as the Peugeot 3008 or the Opel Grandland X. How flexible this platform is, is evident in the design of these three completely different products, which from the outside cannot be seen in the slightest to be related.

Manga style causes a stir

This example from China shows us how to ruin the pleasing design of the Aeolus, because the first thing that immediately catches the eye are two oversized Pikachus from the Pokemon series, which adorn the driver and passenger door of the car, and probably also think that they would love to destroy the car with their red laser eyes, because in our opinion the tuning of the front with the modified front apron in the fake Porsche style is completely wrong. Heavily tinted Demon Eye headlights and a black grille with a blackened emblem also clash with the standard chrome application on the front apron. All in all, this Yixuan D53 is an inconsistent tuning project that could have been made so much more. The beer counter on the trunk lid, which is strongly reminiscent of tuning from the 1980s, also fits. The negative highlight is the "Samurai" front spoiler lip in carbon look, but the red and white tow loop with characters, which tops the whole wild mix of styles. The black rims, on the other hand, are standard, and the red brake calipers behind them go well with it. Unfortunately, we don't know what the owner was thinking, but the rolling cabinet of curiosities is definitely causing a stir on the street. At least the owner of this vehicle does not seem to lack self-confidence.

The engine was not changed.

A 1,5-liter turbo heart beats under the bonnet of the front-wheel drive, producing 150 hp and 230 Newton meters of maximum torque. This means that the Yixuan D1,3, which weighs just 53 tons, is fully motorized. It goes from 0 to 100 km / h in around 9 seconds, and the top speed of the vehicle is 190 kilometers per hour. So you can't get around in the vehicle at the speed of light, but the driving performance is definitely sufficient for a brisk route on the motorway.

Not yet officially available in Europe.

The compact sedan is only available as Gray import can be obtained in Germany, and tuning parts for the vehicle are probably very difficult or even impossible in this country.
