A V8 compressor with 476 PS & 700 Newton meters of torque was a real hammer for the W211 E-Class from Mercedes at the time. Visually extremely restrained, there was only a modified rear apron with the distinctive 4-AMG tailpipes, there were slightly modified side skirts and a sporty front spoiler. In no case were these changes an indication of above-average performance. At the latest when stepping on the accelerator it became clear that a genuine AMG engine was raging under the hood. Two generations later, the W211 E-Class is still impressive and continues to be a force, especially in terms of longitudinal dynamics. And the “extraordinary understatement” mentioned above was particularly popular on the E55.

But of that understatement is the E55 AMG of Denis Ivanov, from Oakland, California, nothing to be seen. The Stuttgart was converted into a pure drift car and in front of the lens of "eatwithnaveed“Provided by Speedhunters magazine. The vehicle is known as "Dapper Drift-DRFTBNZ" and convinces primarily with the matt green full film and the black widebody kit. In addition to the screwed-on fender flares, there was a large spoiler lip for the apron at the front and the E55 AMG with a sporty, aggressive diffuser at the rear. The lowering was carried out using KW Variant 2 coilovers and the wheel arches were fitted with 18 × 9,5-inch TSW Chrono aluminum rims in matt black.

Drifts are made possible by a HAG215 limited-slip differential

And so that the E55 becomes a pure drift vehicle, of course, had to make a lot of changes to the technology. Therefore, there was a HAG215 limited slip differential on the rear axle and of course, a hydraulic handbrake should not be missing. The rest is surprisingly close to the series. Furthermore, the ABS brake system is installed and the traction control ex factory is still available. However, the electronics have been modified so that both are completely deactivated at the touch of a button and the hydraulic handbrake can be used. In the interior, the E55 comes with the much-needed drift lever (hand brake lever) and there is a Momo Mod.07 steering wheel on a custom-made aluminum hub.

The AMG brake system has been upgraded with a master brake cylinder from Wilwood, and Denis relies on the factory-fitted Speedshift 5G-Tronic 722, which has so far performed its service reliably. Only the fact that the original steering angle must be used for drifting distinguishes the E55 from Dennis but something of a professional drift car. When the day ends on the racetrack, the E55 can switch on the air conditioning and the Stuttgarter completes his way home on his own.
