It used to be that a sleek coupe almost always came with a thick V6 or even V8. But thanks to downsizing, those times have been over for a few years now and so it is even going down to three-cylinder engines like the BMW 2 Series Coupe (1,5 liters) and many diesel engines. However, reducing the number of cylinders or the type of combustion does not automatically have to be equated with a reduction in performance or even driving pleasure. The best example is the new Audi A5 Coupe of the F5 type with the well-known VW EA288 four-cylinder diesel which is also used in the VW T6 or the Seat Ateca.
For the stronger version with 190 PS and maximum torque of 400 Nm, DTE Systems has now presented its performance increase. Here, too, DTE uses the familiar PowerControl box, which is connected to the factory-installed motor control as an additional control unit with multi-channel technology. The result is an increase in performance on 217 PS and maximum 480 NM torque which should be noticeable. At the same time, DTE gives up fuel consumption by up to 15 percent. With the optional "PowerControl X" version you can even switch on and off via the integrated keypad and choose between different driving modes.
The highlight, however, is the smartphone app, which can display numerous additional information such as intake manifold and turbocharger pressure as well as the g-forces currently acting on the vehicle. Of course, if we learn more from DTE about the A5 there is an update for this story. About the update you will be informed if yours Feed subscribe to. Have fun watching the pictures and stay true to us!
