6.2L LS3 V8 - the project "Red Rover" from the tuner ECD

Hard to believe that the Range Rover the first generation incredible 25 years, almost unchanged, was built. Here and there a small facelift and finally a 3,5l-V8 with which the off-road vehicle market was revolutionized. But not more. In particular, the ability to combine luxury and Offroadtauglichkeit has the range for the model of Monteverdi Safari, Felber Oasis and finally all other SUV's made. And just such a specimen have now the specialists of ECD Automotive Design pre-buttoned. A Range Rover EFI built somewhere in the late eighties / early nineties. And while the body still exudes the typical angular charm of bygone years on the outside, things look different under the hood and in the interior. ECD has completely restored the range and also fitted a fat 6.2L LS3 V8 from Chevrolet.

Project name "Red Rover"

The whole thing runs under the project name "Red Rover" which of course the chic metallic red paint (Carmen Red Pearl) is owed. For painting, there are still a lot of accents in matt black but everything is visually (almost) standard. Both the bumper with small spoiler lip or the hood with air opening, so this vehicle left the factory. Just not with this engine and not with these rims. Installed are matt black 20 Zoll Mondial wheels from the tuner Kahn design, Incidentally, we know the engine from other ECD vehicles so that we also classify the power in the range of 430 PS (Details are missing so far). Considering the maximum 203 PS of the series range more than one doubling.

the interior is completely new

Naturally, the automatic transmission and all components of the drive are also adapted to the V8. For this purpose, you have a completely new air suspension installed to meet the driving requirements of a current SUV's and new headlights, taillights, etc. And, as already mentioned, there was also a complete fresh cell treatment in the interior. A beautiful light leather interior in combination with red accents (based on the body painting) is found in every corner of the cabin and everything is staged with a meticulously restored wooden interior. There was also a large LCD screen and the ability to charge via mobile charging device corresponding mobile devices.

Air conditioning front and rear

For hot summer days, there was also air conditioning at the front and rear, and as a visual highlight, the instrument lighting of the new instrument cluster shines in red. Once again, the “Project Red Rover” from ECD is a fantastic vehicle that is second to none. We currently do not have any more details about the restored range with V8 power. If we receive timely information on further changes not mentioned before, there will of course be an update for this report.
