Land Rover Defender Final Edition

The contrasts can hardly be more extreme! Take a Land Rover Defender that has hardly changed since 1948 and stuff a state-of-the-art 2,3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder into it. The engine does its job, for example, in the current Ford Mustang or Focus RS and does not fit the Defender on paper at all. But with the final discontinuation of the Defender, more and more modified variants seem to come onto the market because people love it. Kahn design shows almost weekly new conversions and also projects LS3 V8 engine, extreme off-road ambitions or almost completely transformed copies are nothing unusual. UAnd now comes one with EcoBoost engine! The great interest shows the popularity of the Defender, which was built for over 50 years. In the end, however, the requirements for safety or the high demands on pollution control were simply too much for the primeval rock. With the “Last Edition” model, including grumpy 2,2-liter diesel, it was over in 2015.

the alternative - 2,3-liter EcoBoost engine

If you are annoyed about the rumbling engine every day, the tuner JE MotorWorks may have the solution ready. The 2,3-liter turbo four-cylinder from the Ford Focus RS is definitely more refined and also more powerful. The tuner is no stranger to those who know the Land Rover scene. As early as 2015 there was the "Zulu2"Almost the opposite with V8 compressor power. The current renovation, however, aims at completely different intentions. Eventual diesel driving bans in the future are likely to be with this conversion of the table. The driveability should probably be a lot better and considering that Roush performance has already tickled 500PS from the engine, the whole thing is even more exciting! Incidentally, the Defender with EcoBoost four-cylinder should be equipped with and Automatic transmissions will be available and will be completed later this year. The costs are not exactly clear yet, but you should expect around £ 20.000. Of course, if we receive new information, there will be an update for this report, as always.
