Restomod 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham Custom Station Wagon!

In 1959, the Cadillac Eldorado Brougham was one of the most luxurious and expensive vehicles on the American market. Each of the only 99 Eldorado Broughams ever built was built on a specially selected chassis that was shipped to Italy. There it received hand-built Pininfarina bodywork and was sent back to the United States for testing and subsequent delivery to car dealerships. At $14.000, the Eldorado Brougham was even more expensive than a Rolls-Royce back then.

Nearly 50 years later, one of those rare Cadillacs became the basis for an extensive 15-year, $2,3 million tuning project that merged an Eldorado Brougham with a 1956 Nomad station wagon. And the project didn't skimp a bit on the cost front: a Tom Nelson Racing Engines 632-cubic-inch, 8-horsepower, twin-turbo Warrior V1.025 has since been installed, and the shortened body was mounted on a bespoke tubular frame.

The one-off is kept in a two-tone Fawntana Rose in combination with a Titanium Silver finish and enjoys an interior also painted in Fawntana Rose. There are also Recaro bucket seats made from a Cadillac CTS-V, tiger wood, and maple and African wenge wood trim. The impressive unique is also known as CadMad and was created in a crazy 4.000 hours of work fusing a 1959 Cadillac and a 1956 Chevrolet Nomad. He later won the prestigious 2019 Autorama Ridler Award. Incidentally, the original car was number 85 of the 99 Pininfarina vehicles in the Eldorado Broughams series. The body was shortened by 18 inches (approx. 46 cm) in the course of the conversion, by 4 inches (approx. 10 cm) by means of sectioning reduced and by approx. 2 inches (approx. 5 cm) chopped.

The acid-dipped and handcrafted body contributes to the uniqueness of the one-off. The specially built Tom Nelson Racing Engines Warrior Series V8 for the vehicle cost $97.000 alone. The distinctive two-tone paint job cost another $300.000. The vehicle has also been designed to run on race fuel and is scheduled to be auctioned at a Mecum auction in Indy in May 2023.
