While manufacturers like Ford use a so-called “Good Neighbor Mode” for the Mustang GT, so as not to let the exhaust system roar too loudly at the start, Mercedes-Benz is setting completely new standards with its new AMG models. Essentially, the Stuttgart-based company is doing exactly the opposite.
The new feature at a glance
Mercedes-Benz has developed a new feature for its new AMG models including C 63 and C 63 S. It is called Emotion start and is probably just a little the excuse for the announcement soon all AMG sports car with less sound to equip during driving. All new Mercedes-AMG models now have the option at the press of a button to make the sound of the exhaust louder. But how does it work? It's pretty easy. All you have to do is Steering wheel shift paddles to draw one and two at the same time, and to press the Start / Stop button. When the mode is activated, the startup speed is increased from 1800 to 2100 revolutions per minute. At the same time open the exhaust flaps and give the whole a sporty expression. Here are the exhaust flaps responsible for the different sound characteristics. Thus, the unmistakable sound in the Mercedes C 63 (S) through the two chrome double-tube covers even more distinctive.
We hope that these emotions will be preserved
As a result, the AMG gets louder and possibly evokes joyful emotions in you as a driver of a truly free, hand-made engine. However, it may also evoke certain "emotions" in your neighbors, so make sure that you only activate this feature after sunrise. While that Emotion start feature a great thing is, remember, you will not find such a thing in the future hybrid and electric cars for sure. We will have to live with the silence of the future. And with the electronic waste, too! But at least your neighbor will be happy.
