In summer 2020 we will have you with our story Ferrari 250 GT Drogo Breadvan Tribute by Niels van Roij Design a first outlook on an upcoming great project of the designer and coachbuilder. And now the one-off is actually fertiggestellt! Curtain up for them Ferrari breadvan tribute based on a 550 Maranello. With this vehicle is supposed to be the spirit of the old 250 GT SWB breadvan from 1962 to the present. And it actually seems like the classic is alive again after almost six decades. Just something greater and modern. And of course with the unmistakable rear that starts high up and ends steeply, as well as the dark window. Body builder Niels van Roij Design originally had the modern homage Beginning 2019 announced, but it took a long time until the unique dancing horse with box-shaped bottom was actually finished.
2021 Ferrari Breadvan tribute
Similar to the original, the modern replica has a complete body construction done by hand. This was the only way to ensure the correct shape, which is reminiscent of the Le Mans racer of the early 1960s. Back then as "La Camionnette" (small truck) or “Breadvan”, nobody suspects that it will be named in 2021 as Reinterpretation get back on the road once. But not only the rear view is reminiscent of the legend of that time. Also the front was in the field of apron and the Engine cover with the two air openings and the Plexiglass dome based on the original. And even that headlights are a little tied to the design from back then. Especially those round lights in the front bumper reinforce the visual connection with the original.
almost every component is newly created
Apart from the windshield, which is framed in black A-pillars, it was virtually no component in its original condition leave. It doesn't matter if it's the mighty one 4-pipe sports exhaust, which round taillights, which side slats behind the plastic windows or the noble one filler cap are, everything is special for this vehicle prepared. The entire body after the B-pillar is made of one single aluminum shell manufactured to guarantee perfect lines. And that doesn't stop inside. Here, too, there is hardly anything to be seen from the production vehicle. Starting with the labeled in Italian Watch faces with scales pure silver, über die Switchgear in retro style made of milled aluminum, to the quilted black leather with blue Alcantara inserts and Carbon sports seats everything is new. That even applies to them belts. Everything is individual custom made based on the racing cars of the 1960s.
5,5 liter V12 vacuum cleaner under the hood
And the engine? It's series. The 5,5 liter V12 vacuum cleaner does from 485 HP and 580 Newtonmeter torquewhat in a car that something fewer weighs as an original 550 Maranello (Top speed 320 km / h, 100 things in 4,5 seconds, 200 km / h after 14,2 seconds), is probably more than sufficient. So should the two inches that have grown 20 Zöller with Vredestein-Ultrac Vorti + tiresthat are attached to a specially developed Koni coilover kit are coupled, do not negatively affect them. At the end... from the idea to the implementation an unbelievable project and possibly the most impressive by Niels van Roij Design ever.
