After the presentation of the new V8 front engine coupe named Roma the Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari is now introducing the revised Portofino, which is now called M. The "M" stands for "modificata" (changed). Like so many car manufacturers, Ferrari had to switch to the Internet to present the new model in times of the corona pandemic. As a result, however, no new presentation loses its tension, because a new or revised Ferrari model is always spectacularly celebrated, whether as a live presentation or on the Internet.

optically was spiced up subtly

The sharpened optics can be seen clearly on the presentation photos. You can tell immediately from the new bumper and grille. In addition, the diffuser at the rear was modified and optically separated from the apron. For a surcharge, this is also available in carbon fiber optics to create a sporty look. At the same level as the wheel arches, modified side ventilation slots have been placed to give the engine more cooling air so that the risk of overheating in the event of heavy use is contained. On the whole, the very sporty and elegant look of the Ferrari Portofino is retained in the latest version, but some new visual highlights have been added that give the elegant retractable roof convertible an even sportier touch. This also includes the newly designed 20-inch rims in the classic Ferrari design.

Interior and equipment also upgraded

Modernity is making its way into the interior, as there is now a large touchscreen and a digital cockpit in the Portofino. Unfortunately, the digital cockpit cannot be operated by touch, but that is not yet possible in any car in the world. The Ferrari-style Manettino, with which various driving programs can be selected, has also been expanded to include a race mode in order to significantly increase the driving dynamics of the sporty luxury convertible. In addition, various driver assistance systems and ventilated seats were introduced to bring safety and comfort up to date. However, these luxury gadgets can only be purchased at an additional cost. Otherwise, the interior is unchanged and has all the Ferrari-typical features that are known from various models of the brand with the Cavallino Rampante.

The engine increases to 620 HP!

The well-known 3,9-liter V8 turbo gasoline engine has been upgraded with the help of new camshafts. Instead of 600 hp, it now produces a full 620 horsepower and generates 760 Newton meters of maximum torque, which thanks to turbocharging is already available at 3000 revolutions per minute. In addition, a new transmission, which is an eight-speed dual clutch transmission, was installed. In order not to fall victim to the stricter emissions regulations, Ferrari is now installing an OPF for the first time (Otto particle filter) in the exhaust system. Because this filter is mostly at the expense of the sound, the two rear silencers had to be omitted in order to get the typical sound that fans love so much and without which a Ferrari would no longer be a real Ferrari. According to the factory, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h should take place in 3,45 seconds, and the top speed is over 320 kilometers per hour. The first test of the new model will reveal more details.

No information has yet been given about the prices.

The starting price for the new Ferrari Portofino M has not yet been announced, but it should be well over 200.000 euros. But the solvent clientele gets a properly sharpened version of the entry-level convertible from Maranello. For all car fans who do not have the necessary change to buy the new Ferrari, we have a picture gallery of the automotive work of art at the end of the post.
