Visually, the Abarth 124 Spider is anything but reserved.
Four thick exhaust pipes are enclosed at the rear of a sporty diffuser and there are larger alloy wheels, a matte black bonnet and a matt black boot lid. And the acceleration values? After only 6,8 seconds 100 km / h are reached and a top speed of 232 km / h are quite remarkable for the lightweight 124er. But somehow the Abarth 124 would also be good on 200 PS. Finally, the intragroup Knutschkugel Fiat 500 than 595 Competizione even 10 PS stronger and even undercuts the 124er in the sprint to 100 km / h even. 
Technical gimmicks such as the sports knob which makes the steering harder, that can respond spontaneously to gas and the traction control are easily defused are great and spits the lively four-cylinder thanks flap sports exhaust system quite violent. Once the roof is open, the soundscape for a four-cylinder engine really succeeds. Of course, the Abarth tuning is also visible in the interior because here there is high-quality leather, sporty aluminum pedals and a beautiful sports steering wheel. But does that justify the price of 40.000 €? After all, you drive for 280 PS Opel Astra GTC, 231 PS MINI John Cooper Works or 300 PS SEAT Leon ST CUPRA.
