Chip Foose from “C. Foose Design Inc. “has chosen a real classic. And no smaller vehicle like the Jaguar E-Type Roadster (OTS or Open Two Seater). A car that Enzo Ferrari once said was the most beautiful car ever made. And after more than 60 years, this statement still cannot be contradicted. Because no matter where an E-Type appears, turning heads are certain. And that applies in particular to this beautiful 1974 one-off piece by Chip Foose, which was built over a period of almost 2 1/2 years at the customer's request. The classic was at the last SEMA Auto Show in LA (Date: 5. Nov. 2019 - 8. Nov. 2019) and was of course one of the absolute highlights of the auto show. The vehicle from the year of construction 1974 has been completely restored and rebuilt and got some modern details donated.

Everything was created by hand

In addition to various changes to the headlamps front and rear and the grille, it is especially the engine that causes a stir. Foose kicked out the factory 5,3-liter (5343 cm³) V12 and replaced it with an 6,2-liter Chevy V8 LS3 with 525 PS. This was coupled to a GM 4L60-E four-speed automatic transmission. From the 276 PS and 412 NM torque was thus almost twice the power and acoustically audible, all this is due to a custom-made MagnaFlowSports exhaust system, And, of course, a new set of wheels as well as a lower suspension could not be missing. Although these are certainly all changes that have to look for such a vehicle actually nothing, in our opinion, this compensates Restomod Result for everything. Because both the classic-looking chrome wheels and the lowering are absolutely suitable for the E-Type Roadster as we find.

And if you look at the picture gallery below, the result is all the more impressive. No matter if it is the bonnet with large air opening, the modified aprons or the perfectly integrated taillights in the side walls, everything seems to be made from a single mold and is particularly influenced by the classic Palm Copper Body paint and the all-new interior with brown leather trim (modified dashboard, analogue displays, individual pedals) rounded off. And who knows how complex it is, for example, to extend a tailgate, to convert a grille or hood and customize handmade chrome aprons to the body will know that the mentioned 2 1 / 2 years of construction were inevitable.

And there are still the many small details like the huge one sports brake system with perforated Brake discs and yellow painted saddles, the completely new suspension, the already mentioned exhaust system with 4 chrome tailpipes at the rear or the beautiful wooden steering wheel. And finally ... Can you do it! If we receive timely information about further changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if yours is simply ours Feed subscribe to.
