A 1978 Ford Escort Mexico is one of those vehicles you least expect to see Quarter mile racers be rebuilt. But exactly this mission undertook the British tuner Andy devine with success. His Ford Escort Mexico, nicknamed "The Mexorcist", was built on performance and Lightweight trimmed. As a result, he achieves times in the 10-second range on the quarter mile. We would like to present this vehicle to you today.

Carbon as far as the eye can see!

Only the shell of the body is reminiscent of the classic Escort Mk2 Mexico. All body parts are custom-made from carbon fiber. These include the roof, the diffuser, the doors and the hood. Join in Lexan side windows, a Lexan rear window, a new one front splitter and side diffusers, also made of carbon. The windows were tinted yellow and custom taillights are installed at the rear. These are joined by "eyebrows“, a grill from the 3D printer as well as custom turn signals and Bi-LED headlights by Toyota. Incidentally, the headlights were mounted in specially designed light shells. For the necessary racing look, there is also a Single Arm used, which is powered by a wiper motor from a Fiat Uno.

Brakes, suspension and wheels!

An air suspension, which can be lowered 50 mm from a forklift using a switch, is also located in the vehicle. In addition, there are shortened front and rear shock absorbers from GAZ Gold as well as the tank and the necessary compressor. The tank and compressor were housed in the trunk, which one for that was rebuilt. The oil cooler and oil pump were mounted on a removable subframe located just above the rear diffuser.

A new Bremsanlage from AP Racing with 315 mm brake discs with J-slots at the front and a Monte Carlo front brake kit from AP Racing installed at the rear ensure optimum deceleration. There is also one hydraulic handbrake in the vehicle. With regard to the rims, the choice fell on multi-piece 10 × 16 inch BBS E48 wheels Central locking, silver finish and shiny beds. Toyo R888R tires were mounted on the rims, measuring 225/45 R16 on the front axle and 245/45 R16 on the rear axle.

Everything in the interior is trimmed for racing!

As soon as you get in, you pick up Recaro Profi SPG XLRacing bucket seats seat, and faces a custom-made carbon dashboard. A large Roll cage of custom cages as well nets in the side windows illustrate the racing ambitions. Strapped down with Takata 3×2 six-point belts, you look at a large monitor that sits in front of the steering wheel and displays all the telemetry data.
