After the Restomod is before Electric mod! Or something like that… At least this seemingly revamped GT40 oldi unites with his Electric drive the two terms are relatively good. And by the way, he also unites two well-known companies. The British team from Everrats and the Californian Restomod forge Superformancewhich specializes particularly in the Cobra, but also in other sports cars from the 60s. And now Everrati wants to bring an electrified version of the legendary Ford GT40 to the road. And the project is already in full swing. One is already finished Prototype chassis from Superformance, and Everrati is already working on the electric drive. The work will be carried out at Everrati's development center in Upper Heyford, about 20 kilometers north of Oxford, completed. And the former US air force base in Cotswolds was used for a few exciting photos.

Although there is so far for the electric GT40 no technical data, but these should be delivered in the next weeks or months. But why did Everrati choose the distant Superformance LLC team? Because the US company has an excellent reputation with its Shelby Cobras, various Corvettes and also Ford GT40 vehicles, and with the 50th Anniversary Shelby GT40 MkII as well as the Repromod GT40 with EcoBoost V6 also has more than enough experience with the classic from Ford.

When it comes to the GT40, too, you will come across one Repromod fall back and not convert any historical original vehicles. That's reassuring! But that also means that the so-called "rolling chassis replicas" have to not necessarily to Everrati. Anyone who buys such a rolling chassis can also buy it from other specialist companies Internal combustion engines or with modern Electric drives equip.

so far approx. 500 to a maximum of 700 V8 PS

Since Everrati was already electrifying the Porsche 911 (964, see end of article), the Mercedes SL W113 Pagoda and even the Series IIA Land Rover, you should perhaps also rely on the English for the GT40. And since a British-American cooperation was already taking place for the first GT40 at that time, the new partnership will probably also ensure an outstanding result. At that time, a British team built the GT40 at Ford, but the world premiere took place one day before the New York Auto Show in the USA.

Superformance vehicles are built under license from GM, Safir GT40 & Co.

It will be interesting to see what key data the engine will receive and whether it has been the Superformance GT40 vehicles with so far approx. 500 to a maximum of 700 V8 hp maybe even top it. At least it is guaranteed that a lot of detailed work is done on difficult success factors such as the position of the battery or weight distribution. Superformance definitely wants to maintain the character and soul of the original or at most improve it. If we get more information, there will of course be an update for this report.
