The vehicle, which was particularly popular in South America in the 1970s, visually and technically has absolutely nothing to do with the SUV from the 90s or the recently introduced compact pickup. It has long been a tradition at Ford to revive model names from earlier times for modern models that have nothing in common with the original car. This is how it was done, for example, with the compact SUV Puma, whose name predecessor was a small coupé, and the Fusion, which is known in this country as a small SUV based on Fiesta, is known on the American continent as Midsize sedan.

Oldie fans are much more likely to warm to the classic clock collection on the dashboard of the Ford than to any comfort gadgets that are built into many restomods of today.
