Ford has been building the legendary Mustang as a convertible for decades. However, so far ONLY with a fabric top and never as a hardtop convertible. But the well-known tuner Galpin Auto Sports changed that on request. As early as 2010, they came up with an automatic convertible top mechanism that opens and closes the roof of the Mustang in typical hardtop fashion. And the result is by no means as ugly as with the Focus Coupé-Cabriolet, but really successful thanks to the harmonious proportions. And the presentation vehicle that was converted at the time was just sold. Specifically, it is a 2011 Ford Mustang GT that has the platform Bring a trailer was offered for sale. It was built by Galpin for what was then SEMA and has a total of only 860 miles (approx. 1.384 km) on the odometer.

Of course, more impressive than the low mileage is the fact that the Mustang has a fully functional, electrically retractable hardtop. And the implementation in particular was successful. It doesn't matter whether you look at it from the outside or the inside. From every situation in life, the rear area looks as if the vehicle came directly from the Ford factory. While the first good thing is making the optics aesthetically pleasing, the second point is the function of the whole.

It takes just as much work, if not more, to make it work as well as it looks. However, it is so far unclear whether Galpin Apart from the SEMA exhibition vehicle, other hardtop convertible Mustangs were made or whether it was at the Concept stayed. In addition to the new convertible top, the car got tinted headlights and body-colored trim strips on the front lip, side skirts and diffuser. These modifications also look extremely cleanly implemented.

Chassis, rims & sports exhaust

The Mustang also features Ford Racing sports suspension, a set of Halibrand-style wheels with Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR tires and, of course, there's a V8 under the hood. However, the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with 418 hp and 529 Nm is still in standard condition, apart from the built-in Flowmaster exhaust system. There have also been no significant changes in the cabin.
