We're currently thinking, what kind of vehicle is this 1939 Ragtop Ford? Is it a Restomod, it is one Hot Rod? We don't really know. What we know: The dreamy Ford Cabrio from 1939 is certainly an absolute eye-catcher, which has installed countless innovative solutions that are not apparent at first glance. No matter whether it is the elaborate independent wheel suspension on the rear axle or the thick +500 PS V8 under the hood. The changes are extremely spectacular. The 39er Ford stands on chromed rims with low-profile tires and if you look closely you will see that the windshield means Chopping significantly flatter (2 inches flatter / 1 inch steeper) and was installed less steeply. The two-door convertible from the year 39 has a large DeLuxe radiator grill installed and neither the 60 hp 2,2 liter Flathead V8 from the standard model nor the larger 3,6 liter V8 with 85 hp from the DeLuxe version installed here for propulsion.
RamJet 502-V8 with 8,2 liter displacement
Instead, the tuner built "Hot Rods and Custom Stuff of Escondido“ (is responsible for the complete restoration, reconstruction and all technical changes) in the "Rumblin 'Rag“Called a huge RamJet 502-V8 with a displacement of 8,2 liters and an impressive 525 hp. It was coupled directly to a GM 4L80-E gearbox, as the 3-speed automatic from that time would of course have vanished under this force. There was also a specially adapted sports exhaust system with an electronic valve function and, of course, many changes in the engine compartment were necessary to get the engine into the oldi. And so that the ragtop does not warp at the first throttle, there was also an improved chassis and inside there is a specially made two-tone leather interior and plenty of vehicle paint and chrome.
