Hard to believe but under the cover of this supposed super sports car there is actually an old Porsche Boxster S from the 987 series (built from 2004 to 2012). The result is called Gagliardi Vex and could probably also the makers of Grand Theft Auto to have arisen. And as far as we know, the vehicle is not even a one-off, but a replica kit that may be available soon. Although this vehicle is apparently the first conversion at the moment, we are properly informed that it could not stay that way. Further kits would be conceivable for other conversions. And in our opinion, the result is quite successful and turns the boring Boxster into a mixture of Jaguar F-Type, Ferrari 458 Italia and Corvette C7. At least a bit.

Incidentally, the new shell is not made of GRP as usual, but is made of sheet metal and, of course, custom-made for the conversion and absolutely perfect fit. The extensive body kit widens the Boxster to 2,03 meters and is only 1,11 meters high at the same time. Typical dimensions that a thoroughbred super athlete brings with him. The factory soft top of the Porsche Boxster is removed during the conversion and replaced with a hardtop. The hardtop even fits behind the seats and can therefore always be carried. However, the chassis, which has been extended by 12 inches (approx. 30 cm) and painted in Corvette white, is particularly complex, which means that extensive welding work must be carried out on the body in the area behind the seats. Of course, you don't just do such an effort. This is because all components such as the drive shaft, the brake lines or the fuel supply have to be revised and extended accordingly.

The technology under the new cover remains unchanged, at least with this vehicle, and is still fully usable. In contrast to many other replicas, the Gagliardi Vex is a very successful specimen that attracts a lot of attention, especially with the chic 20 inch drop center rims. The body looks successful and contemporary and a Gagliardi Vex is probably even rarer than a real super sports car. And even in terms of performance, one approaches one another, since in addition to an increase in performance, a sports exhaust system was also installed for the perfect acoustics.
