In Germany, James Glickenhaus, CEO of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus Company, is best known as a patron and competitor of the Nürburgring 24 Hours. However, the vehicles from Glickenhaus should not only advance into hypercar territory on the racetrack, but also teach fear on the road to the competition from Bugatti, McLaren and Koenigsegg. The latest creation from SCG is called the 007S and today we would like to introduce you to this street-legal race car that costs 2,5 million US dollars.
Seating concept á la McLaren F1!
Not only the design language of the Glickenhaus, which is strongly inspired by current Le Mans racing cars, provides topics of conversation and controversial discussions. The seat layout with three seats in the first row is anything but conventional. In the style of the McLaren F1 or the all-new GMA T.50, the pilot sits in the middle and is flanked in the best (or worst) case by two co-drivers.
The central cockpit has the advantage that it can be used in both right-hand and left-hand traffic without any problems, but it also has many disadvantages. For example, getting in is difficult and it is difficult to rescue the pilot in the event of an accident or even a rollover. In terms of design, the front takes its cue from Porsche, while the red and white paintwork borrows from Scuderia Ferrari, just like the name of the US company.
A biturbo V8 provides powerful power!
In contrast to many sports cars that are currently being presented, SCG does not use electrification. Instead, a four-liter biturbo V8 petrol engine with 1.000 hp provides propulsion. But when it comes to environmentally friendly drives, Scuderia Glickenhaus is not idle either, which is why a fuel cell drive is currently being developed Hydrogen should be operated. The aim is to prove that electric drives are not the only panacea for the time after the combustion engine. Unfortunately, we do not yet have any information about the driving performance of the 007S.
Our conclusion:
- A dream car for all endurance racing fans. If you have the wherewithal to spare, you can get the 007S from the Scuderia Glickenhaus, a hypercar that may soon make Bugatti or Koenigsegg green with envy. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to. Have fun watching the pictures and stay true to us!
Don't worry, of course that was far from being the case when it came to auto / auto tuning. Our magazine still has tens of thousands other tuning reports in stock. Do you want to see them all?
