Volkswagen Golf GTI (MK1) Restomod on BBS rims!

In view of the currently rising prices for the first generation of the VW Golf GTI (MK1) a comprehensive tuning seems daring. Some like it, others hate it. But if a vehicle is presented on tuningblog, then you can already guess that the owner has of course decided on tuning. And that's exactly what happened in this case! And even the critics have to admit that this specimen has a certain appeal. When it was introduced in 1975, the Golf GTI practically single-handedly revolutionized the market for affordable sports cars. From the Renault 5 Alpine to the Peugeot 205 GTI to the Clio 16S, many imitators followed in just a few years. In our opinion, however, no one has come close to the GTI.

And as with most cars from the legendary era, buying a GTI Mk1 means investing a lot of money to get it looking like the car in the pictures. In view of the high prices, it is also rather rare nowadays that the proud owners tune their MK1's, as this usually negatively affects the residual value of the vehicle. However, in our opinion, the changes that the Dutch owner of the Golf GTI 1800 (WVWZZZ17ZDW238524) made from the pictures do not in any way reduce the value.

The vehicle is currently from Artcurial offered for sale at the upcoming Rétromobile. the MK1 is completely repainted and year of production 1983. It has the aprons of the first series of the GTI and also has beautiful originals BBS wheels installed. Not quite contemporary, but still cool, we also find the integration of the new door handles in the body. They come from Audi and are significantly more elegant than the series handles.

with windows and sunroof

Incidentally, there is also a set of electric ones power windows as well as a Sunroof. Not to forget, of course Lowering and the blackened emblem in front. The VW logo was completely removed at the back. And inside? The classic looks like a new car. Appreciates despite the modifications and the Dutch vehicle registration Artcurial the value of the car to between €15.000 and €20.000. We are curious if he will achieve that. Should we have more information about the changes on MK1 GTi received, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to.
