Great Wall Ora R1 with self-made tuning - dwarf rebellion with electric power.

Hardly is the little one Great Wall Ora R1 presented, it is already being refined. The electric speedster is probably the cheapest battery-powered car in the world, and one of the smallest, at the equivalent of around 16.000 euros, which you have to put down if you want to bring the vehicle to Germany as a gray import. Slightly smaller than a VW Up !, the Ora R1 is currently shaking up the market for electric cars in its home country of China. But this copy of the little e-runabout doesn't want to look as sweet and sweet as its “civil” brothers, but rehearses the dwarf revolt.

An eye-catcher in the smallest format.

The just 3,49 m long, 1,66 m wide and 1,56 m high Ora R1 seems to be professionally tuned, and proves that cars in the format of a Smart ForFour can look really bad and do not always have to go through as rolling hog balls . You can no longer see that it is purely electric and that it is actually intended for the city. This great wall would attract the attention of visitors at every tuning meeting. Alcantara upholstery and a cool sports steering wheel with 12 o'clock marking have been installed in the interior, but otherwise it has remained largely standard. Even without tuning, the interior is kept very cool and modern, especially the infotainment system, which could also come from a mid-size sedan, and via navigation, Apple carplay, Android Auto and Baidu CarLife disposes.

This car is only for the city.

The tiny one has a 33 kWh lithium polymer battery under the hood as the drive source, which generates just 48 hp, which makes the little city car only a little over 110 km / h. So the little one is only suitable for the city, but has a maximum range of 301 km suitable for everyday use. This means that you don't have to constantly go to the next charging station, but usually remain mobile and autonomous for a long time. The Great Wall Ora R1 is just the thing for autoposer on a budget because it looks so cool that it is guaranteed to fade a Mercedes or BMW next to it.

A tiny one that causes a stir.

We have already mentioned above that the e-dwarf attracts everyone's attention, and we are just waiting for a 65 kWh battery in the device to feel a lot of e-power, which from the cool part also has an electric steam hammer makes. Unfortunately, this is not yet the case and the small electric vehicle still has to make do with the 33 kWh and weak-breasted 48 hp. The tuning makes up for the poor performance. For example, there is the chic BBS RW 8 wheelset in 17 inches with Nankang Sportnex AS-2 + 225/35 R17 tires that hides an AP Racing 9440 four-piston brake system with 330 mm AP brake discs and Ferodo DS2500 brake pads.

There was a lowering by means of SF Racing Suspension coilover
and the body was decorated with a 3M foil, a front apron in racing style, roof and exterior mirrors in black metallic, self-made fender flares (drawn wheel arches). Small details like the tow hook in racing look or the cabin with the mentioned sports steering wheel with 12 o'clock marking or the
Alcantara upholstery successfully rounds off the tuning. If you fell in love with the little runabout and maybe even find it cute, then we recommend our picture gallery, which we put together at the end of the article. We currently have no further details. If we receive timely information on further changes not previously mentioned, there is of course an update for this report.
