Gunther Werks Porsche 993 400R at McLaren P1 level!

Whoever thinks that a Porsche 993 from Gunther Werks is nothing more than a Wannabe singer restomod is, which is only suitable for various car events, but has no business being on a racetrack, which is proved wrong with the video embedded below. Because in the little film from "Autocar" there is a wonderful Porsche 993 remastered by Gunther Werks, which is the racetrack in Laguna Seca in only 1: 30.99 minutes circled. This is made possible by a newly built 4,0-liter six-cylinder naturally aspirated in the rear, which delivers an impressive 431 hp and 423 Nm of torque. The boxer is naturally air-cooled and rotates up to 8.100 rpm. It creates an absolutely epic soundscape from approx. 7.000 revolutions. And he wanted to show what he is capable of! And he succeeded.

Randy Franklin Pobst at the wheel

The performance was by Randy Franklin Pobst (also known as "RFP" or "The Rocket", American racing driver and journalist) at the wheel of the 993 was consequently put on the track. For a round of the Weather Tech Raceway Laguna Seca as already mentioned, he only needed 1: 30,99 minutes. A remarkable time for a restomod. After all, a 737 hp McLaren P1 with a bi-turbo V8 gasoline engine and electric motor and a time of 1: 30,71 for one lap is not really faster. And the Porsche 918 Spyder with 887 PS & 1.280 NM (!!!) strong 4,6-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine and two synchronous motors is not out of reach with 1: 29,89 minutes.

993 Remastered by Gunther Werks

Obviously Gunther Werks built a lot more than just a nice restomod here. Almost no vehicle on the track is more effective than the 993 Remastered. This is made possible by a fully adjustable coilover kit, an improved braking system and the extensive use of carbon. The result is a Empty weight of only 1.133 kg! If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply do ours Feed subscribe to. Have fun watching the pictures and stay true to us!
