The Wildest WRX STI Ever! Gymkhana 11 Subaru WRX STI!

Everything is waiting for the brand new WRX next year and Subaru knows that too. But the manufacturer has now reminded that the expiring model is still alive with the help of Travis Pastrana and will celebrate a fitting farewell. And literally as "The wildest WRX STI ever“! However, this does not (unfortunately) indicate a special model, but rather a one-off piece with carbon body parts, a heavy aero package all around and a very special four-cylinder boxer engine with turbocharger. For Travis Pastrana, American motocross and freestyle motocross pilot as well as multiple champion and gold medalist at the X-Games. He takes over the steering wheel for Ken Block in Gymkhana 11. And Subaru equips Pastrana with a very special STI for the strip.

“This STI is unbelievable,” said the 37-year-old racing driver, and who could not believe him when he saw the vehicle? The special WRX STi has been given a long-travel suspension with an unbelievable amount of suspension travel for tough off-road use. In the interior there is a spartan Recaro bucket seat and a full-fledged roll cage is installed. The rest was almost completely kicked out. The relocation of the exhaust system to the rear of the car has been saved and so the two tailpipes of the engine can exit directly from the bonnet in the style of the last Ken Block vehicles. And Subaru as well as the technical partner Vermont Sports Car has created the four-door sedan from 2008, according to its own statement, "reinterpreting the entire gymkhana concept". The WRX should be able to do thingsno other gymkhana car was ever capable".

great promises to gymkhana 11

After years with the Ford brand, the return to the Japanese manufacturer is indeed an interesting change. But the change is understandable as Pastrana drives for Subaru and Block has been supported by Ford for years. But Block is not idle either. He is currently working on his one-off Ford Mustang drift car called hoonifox. Incidentally, Hoonigan, Subaru and Pastrana are currently not giving any information about the location or the time of the publication of Gymkhana 11. For the first time since Gymkhana was founded, Ken Block will not be behind the wheel. What else we know: The STI has a huge wing, various flaps / canards and it is very likely that it will have significantly more power than the Impreza WRX STI tuned by Crawford Performance in 2006 with 530 PS and 711 NM torque by Ken Block from Gymkhana 1 or the 2009 Impreza WRX STI hatchback with 566 PS and 828 NM from Gymkhana 2. We are curious! If we receive new information, there will of course be an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
