Hudson Motor Car Co.

The US company Hudson Motor Car Company was founded in Detroit in 1909 and is a former automobile company that existed until 1954. Then in 1954 Hudson merged with the manufacturer Nash Motors to the so-called American Motors Corporation (AMC). The company was given its original name Joseph Lowthian Hudson, who provided the start-up capital for founding the company. After a few years, the company was known as a particularly innovative automobile manufacturer and scored points at the time with innovations such as a starter, warning lights for oil pressure and alternators, and a balanced crankshaft. By the late 1930s, Hudson was selling up to 300.000 vehicles a year. With the AMC merger, the Hudson models were discontinued.
