He was the first production vehicle of the 2010 newly established sub-brand BMW i and came on the market not only with electric drive but also a passenger compartment made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) 2013. Electrically operated, the 25 KW electric motor is able to transport the i3 approx. 200 km at leisurely driving style. If that was not enough, you could optionally buy the increase in range with the fuel-powered 25 KW Range Extender (plug-in hybrid) version. Since last year, the i3 now has an improved 33-kWh accumulator of about 50% more capacity and electrical range. And next year, we want to bring a version on the market, due to improved cell chemistry with unchanged dimensions of the battery to increase the range to 450 km.

But if we're honest, we'd like a lot of new things, especially when it comes to optics. Somehow, as we think, the design of the i3 does not want to match a BMW and, especially in series production, the look that takes getting used to is probably a reason for the meager sales figures. However, one must also credit that “lean” is only meant in relation to the gasoline / diesel engines offered at the same time. Taken alone, the i3 sold well with 2864 units in 2016 and the competition can't do better. The Californian tuner TAG Motorsports now presented a copy on its website that was only equipped with a new set of alloy wheels and a subtle lowering and suddenly has a much more pleasing look. An HRE 309 Classic Wheels wheelset was installed which measures 20 × 5.5 inches on the front and rear axles.

The alloy wheels have a matt black painted rim star and also a Turquoise Green painted rim. Of course, the i3 looks very well-equipped, but somehow the new wheelset makes for a successful look. Apart from the new wheelset we are no further modifications known so we leave you here with the pictures alone. 🙂 If we still get some details about further changes, there is of course an update for this post. About the update you will be informed if yours Feed subscribe to. We hope you enjoy watching.
