It was only 3 months ago that Dodge got it 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat with 719 PS & 654 NM strong V8 presented to the world public and the American tuner Hennessey Performance comes around the corner with a huge increase in performance. While the German competition in the form of BMW M X5Mercedes GLE 63 S. or Audi RS Q8 already trembles in front of a factory Durango SRT, a performance-enhanced variant is probably almost scary. Especially when it comes from the performance tuner Hennessey. As is well known, they have made it their mission to equip almost every model with at least 1.000 hp and so it is not surprising that after the Charger, the Challenger and the Jeep Trackhawk now also got the Durango.

After all, they are all powered by the supercharged 6,2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8, which Hennessy was one of the first tuners to look at years ago. And since you don't have to reinvent the wheel in this case, it is of course easy to implement the existing experience in the 2021 model. The so-called HPE1000 kit is therefore available for another vehicle.

It comes with the well-known 2,65-liter supercharged system, with the high-flow catalytic converters, a compressor bypass valve, a special throttle body tuning, an upgraded pulley and injectors, HPE chip tuning software, a high-flow air intake system and various smaller ones Modifications now also in the Durango. The result mobilizes 1.012 hp at 6.500 rpm and an insane 1.314 Nm of torque at 4.200 rpm. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h should be reduced from 3,5 to 2,8 seconds and the quarter mile should be completed in just 10,8 seconds and at a speed of 203 km/h.

There is no information about the new maximum speed, but well over 300 km/h shouldn't really be a problem as long as the tires play along. Visually, however, one holds back. The currently only virtually modified copy shows itself with HPE1000 logos and badges and has an in-house wheel set installed in an estimated 21 inches.

There is probably also a consecutive serial number in the cabin and a plaque in the engine compartment. Why? Because the HPE1000 variant for the Durango SRT Hellcat only exactly 50 x should be built!
