Evasive Motorsports builds the Honda S2000R that never was!

Evasive Motorsports presents the Honda S2000R, with a touch of Type R! The S2000, a sporty roadster built from 1999 to 2009, remains popular with car enthusiasts and tuners in particular. With its high-revving two-litre engine and impressive performance, the S2000 made a lasting impression. Although there was never an official Type R version during the production period, has Evasive Motorsports accepted the challenge and one S2000R created that combines the spirit of the Type R with the legendary roadster.

Evasive Motorsports S2000R

At the heart of the S2000R is the supercharged K20 engine from the previous generation Honda Civic Type R, replacing the S20's original naturally aspirated F2000 four-cylinder engine. As is well known, the engine is available as a crate engine. The conversion includes a special Evasive intake manifold, an improved one downpipe, a Mugen carbon fiber intake manifold and a MoTec M140 engine management system for a smooth integration. In the base version, the S2000R produces the same 306 hp as the FK8 Civic Type R, but Evasive Motorsports has performance upgrades available on request that allow for more power. The exact specifications of the upgrades are not yet known.

The S2000 retains its original six-speed manual transmission, linked to the K20 powerplant via a special shift bell. an improved one locking differential helps with power transfer, while Brembo six-piston calipers with 14-inch discs at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear ensure optimal braking performance. A special Evasive handbrake, compatible with the Brembo system, makes parking on slopes easier. An upgraded one coilover with new stabilizers and special bushings completes the performance package.

Interior and body upgrades

The interior of the S2000R is given a modern flair by installing a digital MoTec screen in place of the classic instrument cluster, and new Recaro seats, Alcantara panels and carbon fiber door panels ensure a particularly exclusive ambience.

Externally, the S2000R features a subtle body kit that includes a carbon fiber front lip, 20th Anniversary S2000 front fascia and widebody fenders. Numerous carbon elements, such as the bonnet, trunk, tonneau cover and rear spoiler, give the S2000R a particularly sporty look.

Availability and prices

Incidentally, the vehicle shown with the number 000 is only a roadworthy one Prototyp. However, Evasive Motorsports state that interested S2000 fans can either purchase a turnkey example or sell their own S2000 for a conversion. Pricing packages for converting or buying a finished S2000R will be announced at a later date.

Conclusion

With the S2000R, Evasive Motorsports has presented a wonderful project that combines the legendary Honda S2000 with the spirit of the Type R. Utilizing the supercharged K20 four-cylinder, high-quality chassis and brake components, as well as visual changes to the body and interior, the S2000R is a Honda enthusiast's dream.

The option to offer your own S2000 for conversion or to purchase a turnkey model makes the project even more attractive and gives Honda enthusiasts the chance to take their S2000 to a new level.
