Honda Spirior in black optics: Japan limo with a stealth bomber look!

With us, the Honda Spirior, which was specially developed for the Chinese market and was built in China by the Honda joint venture partner named Dongfeng, is almost completely unknown. The car, based on the Acura TLX and the ninth generation Honda Accord, was launched at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2014 and launched in China in late 2014. At the end of 2018, however, the model disappeared from the market again and was replaced by the Honda Inspire, which is based on the current tenth generation of the Honda Accord. Thus, the Honda Spirior was only allowed to court buyers' favor for four years before disappearing from the market. Obviously, this doesn't deter a tuning fan from getting the car and driving it out of the old-fashioned corner by giving it a super sporty look with a completely black look.

The black knight drives Honda.

With such a tuning, a rather conservative sedan becomes absolutely cool, and the modified front bumper and the completely black grill with blackened emblem show in which direction the car is headed. In addition, the 18-incher in glossy black perfectly round off the professional-looking look of the Spirior. The only splash of color on the black beast are the orange-painted Brembo brake calipers, which live behind the spokes of the black alloy wheels, and immediately catch the eye. The rear, of course, was also not allowed to remain unchanged, which is why the trunk lid is now adorned with a pretzel spoiler, which is particularly popular with Chinese tuners. In addition, a four-pipe exhaust system was installed, which is supposed to provide a decent sound, but is probably more for show purposes than really changing the engine sound. Surprisingly, the rear lights were not tinted, so that they remained in the standard dark red and act as a dash of color at the rear. You might think that the tuning might not have been completed in the final analysis, but in our opinion it is well done and the car would also look good in Europe at a JDM meeting or a brand-open tuning show . So you can see that Chinese tuners are trying harder to refine their cars professionally, and not just trying out wild mixes of styles, which often deface the car and become one Tuning Fail let be.

nothing has been changed on the engine

There were three engines available for the Honda Spirior, namely a 2-liter VTEC naturally aspirated engine with 155 HP and 190 Newton meters of maximum torque, and a 2,4-liter VTEC naturally aspirated engine that put 208 HP and 247 Newton meters on the drive shaft . There was also a hybrid drive with a combined system output of 215 hp and 315 Newton meters of maximum torque. The continuously variable automatic transmission in the smaller of the two petrol engines and in the hybrid is used, while an 8-stage dual clutch transmission is used in the more powerful petrol engine. Above all, with the stronger of the two petrol engines, the Honda Spirior is a veritable competitor for the German premium sedans when it comes to scoring on the highway, because with a top speed of up to 236 km / h you can already drive a variety of drivers - and chase.

Who drives such a Honda Spirior?

We estimate that the Honda belongs to a young, car-loving man or a young, car-loving woman who is not infected by the SUV boom and has been looking for a car that you do not see in the tuning scene every day. It's great that there are still great cars far from the usual uniform that you don't see every day. If you are of the same opinion as us, you can review the Honda Spirior again in our picture gallery at the end of the article.
