Yesterday evening the work of art “Minotauro” (Minotaur) was unveiled at La Bullona in Milan: the myth of a figure with a human body and a bull's head embodied as a painting on the body of a Huracán EVO1. The work is an expression of the dynamism, power and inner emotions that the artist Paolo Troilo experienced while driving the Huracán EVO. They are represented by the powerful features of a man's body that sprang from Paolo Troilo's fingers. Paolo Troilo's constantly evolving painting uses the male body as its defining element and as a means of communication. The work entitled "Minotauro" owes its name to the mixture of emotion and meaning that the artist experienced when he came into contact with Lamborghini.

“I found it inspiring to get to know Paolo Troilo and his artistic expressiveness. Art is very present in our company and it has always influenced our automobiles, ”comments Christian Mastro, Marketing Director of Automobili Lamborghini. "But when our product and the emotions it conveys meet the sensitivity of an artist like Troilo, something completely different and extraordinarily unique emerges like the work 'Minotauro', and we are proud of that."

The artist pays homage to the Huracán EVO by depicting a fusion of the human being, the bull, the symbol of Automobili Lamborghini, and the mythical concept in the form of a male figure painted on the side panels of the body. This radiates an indomitable, supernatural and almost animal power. The forearms and clenched fists on the hood communicate a special strength that is reminiscent of bull horns.

"Time. I love slowness and have always defended it as a key element for joy, culture, beauty and success. But sometimes there are encounters that change you, ”explains Paolo Troilo, the work's creator. “Meeting the Lamborghini Huracán EVO and driving it opened my eyes to the fact that there are things that are able to release the same energy through acceleration, speed and dynamism. I perceived the rustling of the wind, which grew stronger and stronger as the space condensed and time warped: I felt a flowing wind and used it to paint directly on the muse, the inspiration for these emotions - the Huracán, mine Minotauro. From November 4 to 13, the Huracán EVO painted by Paolo Troilo can be seen alongside other works by the artist as part of the “TROILO-MILANO SOLO ANDATA” exhibition curated by Luca Beatrice at Palazzo Serbelloni (Corso Venezia 16, Milan). Paolo Troilo was born on March 27, 1972 in Taranto to Antonio and Lucia Troilo. His distinctive talent was evident in his drawings at the age of seven. His mother lovingly supported him by making sure that paper and pens were readily available for him around the house.

His father, an anesthetist, soon had him make illustrations of pathological anatomy for display at medical congresses. Paolo first studied at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome, then later architecture and modern literature at the University of Florence. He didn't graduate from any of these courses because he was dying to work in advertising. In 1997 he moved to Milan and started his illustrious career in the advertising industry. His successful career began with the well-known agency Saatchi & Saatchi and led to the fact that he was awarded the Grand Prix of the Italian Art Directors Club in 2007 as the best creative director in Italy.

If you had to pinpoint the beginning of his artistic career, it would probably be in April 2005, when he was still in the advertising industry and decided to switch from drawing to painting. However, he forgot to get paintbrushes the day he started collecting the material needed for this jump. It was this "mistake" that gave us his technique. His urge to express himself at all costs became a virtue. He started to paint with his fingers. This technique, together with the powerful design language of his works, makes him unique.

In 2009 he left the advertising industry to pursue his passion for painting. In 2011 he was selected for the 54th Venice Biennale. In 2013 he made himself independent as an artist and left all art galleries that represented him to continue his own path with the help of patrons. His work has been exhibited in Singapore, San Francisco, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, New York, Milan, Rome, Palermo and Florence. Paolo Troilo lives and works in Milan.
