Off-roader: the 610 hp Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato!

Automobili Lamborghini presents the new Huracán Sterrato at Art Basel in Miami Beach: the first supercar designed for maximum driving pleasure even off the asphalt. It completely reinterprets the concept of sportiness and underlines the brand values "bold, authentic and unexpected". "True to our values as a visionary, bold and unconventional brand, we are entering a new dimension of driving experience with the Sterrato", comments Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini. Presenting it at Art Basel in Miami reflects that, like an avant-garde work of art, the Sterrato represents a radical and novel interpretation of the supercar concept. In terms of performance, however, the Sterrato belongs in the most dynamic and thrilling driving environments in the world.”

The Huracán Sterrato offers optimized driving dynamics for perfect control on all surfaces, from the street to the gravel track. Compared to the Huracán EVO, the Sterrato is equipped with an updated version of the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) system, which has specific settings for STRADA and SPORT. For the first time on the Huracán range, RALLY mode is available for low-grip conditions. "With the high-speed concept for all surfaces of the Sterrato, we have the driving experience of a real super sports car with driving fun in a unique way of a rally car,” explains Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer. "Lamborghini vehicles always deliver emotions and the Sterrato takes driving to a new level of thrill.”

The exterior expresses the adventurous character of the Sterrato at first glance. The ground clearance has been increased by 44 millimeters compared to the Huracán EVO, which ensures greater suspension travel. The track width at the front (+30 mm) and rear (+34 mm) has also grown. Furthermore, the front underbody protection made of aluminum, the reinforced rocker panels, the rear diffuser and the robust wheel arches not only protect the body, but also emphasize its muscular appearance. The classic air intake on the rear hood not only underlines the sporty claim of the model, but also helps to supply the engine with clean air on dusty slopes.

"The Sterrato is proof that Lamborghini's design DNA works perfectly, even with unexpected proportions," comments Mitja Borkert, Head of Design at Lamborghini. "The design translates the Sterrato's supercar genes into a new way of being and underscores its intention to offer a truly unique and enjoyable driving experience." The Huracán Sterrato is powered by the 5,2-liter V10 engine with a maximum output of 610 hp and 560 Nm of torque (at 6500 rpm). The engine works in conjunction with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and electronically controlled all-wheel drive with a mechanical limited-slip rear differential. Engineered for optimal performance on unpaved and sandy surfaces, the Sterrato accelerates from 3,4 to 0 km/h in 100 seconds and has a top speed of 260 km/h.

The car is equipped with aluminum monoblock brake calipers with six pistons in front and four pistons in the rear. There are also internally ventilated, perforated carbon-ceramic brake discs with a diameter of 380 millimeters and a thickness of 38 millimeters at the front and 356 millimeters in diameter and a thickness of 32 millimeters at the rear. Its 19-inch rims are exclusively covered with specially developed Bridgestone Dueler tires that offer maximum versatility and adaptability to any condition and any surface. At the same time, they contribute to the driving experience, the emotion and the driving pleasure of the car.

Tires with run-flat technology

The tires are 235/40 R19 at the front and 285/40 R19 at the rear and feature run-flat technology. In the event of a flat tyre, it guarantees a journey of at least 80 kilometers at 80 km/h without tire pressure. These bespoke Bridgestone tires have been engineered to fit 100 percent with the vehicle's DNA, including an innovative tread design and state-of-the-art tread compound. This ensures perfect grip on both gravel and asphalt and at the same time offers excellent handling and behavior at high speeds. The interior with the exclusive "Verde Sterrato" (green) Alcantara upholstery reflects the "Feel like a pilot" philosophy that has always applied to the Huracán series. It puts the driver at the center of the cockpit to give them the ultimate driving experience and total control over all vehicle functions.

The HMI has new graphics and functions specially designed for driving on unpaved roads. The instruments used for the first time include a digital roll and pitch display to measure the vehicle's angle of inclination, a compass, a display of geographic coordinates and a steering angle display. The onboard service Lamborghini Connect includes the integration of Amazon Alexa. This allows vehicle functions such as air conditioning and lighting to be adjusted, as well as navigation, telephone calls and entertainment to be controlled with a simple voice command. The vehicle can also be controlled remotely via the Lamborghini UNICA app, for example by remotely monitoring the speed and sending a destination directly to the navigation system.

networked telemetry system

The Huracán Sterrato features a connected telemetry system that allows the driver to monitor their performance and analyze the data using the UNICA app. Apple Watch users can also sync their heart rate data with on-board telemetry to measure their personal performance while driving. The Lamborghini Drive Recorder is also available, with which the most exciting driving experiences can be recorded on video. This further enriches the "Board Diaries" function, the digital memory album integrated into the Lamborghini UNICA app. The new Huracán Sterrato offers almost unlimited possibilities for visual customization: Thanks to the Lamborghini Ad Personam program, the customer can choose from 350 exterior colors and more than 60 shades for the leather and Alcantara in the interior. Production of the limited edition of 1499 pieces will start in February 2023.
