2021 Hyundai i20 N Rally2 from Hyundai Motorsport!

Hyundai Motorsport will be launching a new rally vehicle, the i2021 N Rally20, in 2. This was specially developed for private customer teams and drivers. The new i20 N Rally2 is the successor to the successful Hyundai i20 R5, which was used by the Hyundai customer sports department from 2015. The i20 N Rally2 builds on the experience of Hyundai Motorsport engineers and offers a package that has been improved in all areas. The chassis of the new i20 N forms the basis of the new rally vehicle. This is the first N high-performance model from Hyundai in the small car segment. The i20 N Rally2 reflects the dynamic look of the street model and follows the new Hyundai design philosophy "Sensuous Sportiness", which gives the vehicle a powerful look and was inspired by motorsport.

with 1,6-liter turbo engine

While the sequential five-speed gearbox is carried over from the i20 R5, the i20 N Rally2 has been almost completely redeveloped in all other areas - including the 1,6-liter turbo engine. The designers and engineers incorporated the five years of experience from the previous model into the project. They also benefited from the growth of Hyundai Motorsport's customer sports division. When the i20 R5 was launched, the department consisted of just a handful of employees; today the team has around 60 employees. This growth was already reflected in the development of the i20 R5. The vehicle has been continuously developed over the past few years, thereby improving its handling and performance. The new i20 N Rally2 benefits from these development steps. However, the new chassis enables great advances in almost every aspect of vehicle design.

for professional rally drivers and private drivers

New suspension components and dampers give the car more precise handling on all surfaces. This is particularly important in the Rally2 category, as it forms the basis of numerous national and regional championships as well as the international classes WRC 2 and WRC 3. The vehicles used there are driven by both professional rally drivers and private drivers, on both gravel and asphalt. The extensive test program with the i20 N Rally2 begins at the end of October. The first deliveries of customer vehicles and the final homologation are planned for summer 2021.
