The connection between Nissan and Infiniti sometimes drives strange blossoms. Since many models are technically identical and also look similar, there have been quite a few oddities. Not just rebranded Nissan models sold as Infiniti, but crazy ones too Tuning conversions as a retro mods do the rounds. The latest creation is a first-generation Infiniti G35 coupe, sporting a front end inspired by the first Datsun 240 Z. This vehicle has been on the Nostalgic 2 Days in Japan presented and we would like to introduce you to the car.
Retro style on the luxury coupe!
From the front of the vehicle, which was on display in Japan on February 18th and 19th, you would not guess that it is a first-generation Infiniti G35 coupe. The LED round headlights and the bulbous and exposed fenders clearly speak the design language of the legendary 240 Z. The tapering bonnet and the nostalgic grille also make the vehicle appear as if it were assembled from two different cars.
Also striking are the exterior mirrors mounted above the fenders, which carry the typical design of old Japanese automobiles into modern times. However, attaching a front license plate will be difficult, because the pointed front bumper and the grille make it almost impossible to find a suitable position for the license plate. The front also features a Nissan badge instead of the Infiniti logo, making it clear that the vehicle pays homage to the brand's first sports car, initially sold under the Datsun brand name.
Probably with a 3,5-liter V6 naturally aspirated petrol engine!
And the rear? This should also be reminiscent of the 240 with the square taillights and "glued" fake rear spoiler. The drive is most likely a 3,5-liter V6 naturally aspirated petrol engine with 280 hp and 363 Newton meters of maximum torque. However, we have no information on top speed or general performance. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission.
Our conclusion:
- A tuning that takes a lot of getting used to and that clearly reflects the craziness of the JDM scene. Unfortunately, the look of the conversion kit is not to our liking. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to. Have fun watching the pictures and stay true to us!
