Facelift or facelift, the Nissan GT-R R35 has been around since the end of 2007 and whether it's Mk1, MK2, MK3 or the MK4, which has been available for almost two years, not much has changed. Although it went in stages from 485 to currently 570 PS and here and there a few changes to the body are visible, an official successor is still pending. How about the Nissan GT-R50 from Italdesign, which is the birthday present for 50 years of GT-R and 50 years of Italdesign? Unmistakably a GT-R but also unmistakably different. The question was originally called: What does a GT-R look like if you are allowed to work without restrictions? But the result is a crystal clear successor to the current model for us.

In front, the GT-R50 convinces with a gold-colored insert over the entire width of the vehicle and the bonnet shines with a huge Powerdome. The fenders are equipped with LED light strips and behind the front wheels are also golden inserts installed. In terms of the headlights comes some 458-Italia style as we find, without talking about a copy. The roofline is lowered in the 54 mm which, when combined with the stepped roof, leaves an extremely dynamic shape. The rear convinced with a large rear window and spacey round tail lights and an extendable rear spoiler.

And the specially developed alloy wheels have done really well. The 21 inch (10 × 21 and 10,5 × 21) Large Liquid Kinetic Gray painted wheel is fitted with tires in the dimensions 255/35 at the front and 285/30 at the rear and sits consistently in the wheel arches thanks to the lowering. A lot has happened on the inside too, and so the GT-R50 comes with many carbon applications, surfaces with black Alcantara or leather and accents in gold that are based on the body. The highlight is definitely under the hood. Here is a handcrafted 3,8-liter V6 biturbo that sends 720 PS & 780 NM to all four wheels. The increase in performance compared to the R35 is achieved with a larger turbocharger, new crankshaft, new pistons, new connecting rods, modified camshafts, improved injection system and a sports exhaust system.

And so that the extra power also arrives on the road, a stronger dual-clutch transmission, an improved differential, new drive shafts and the GT-R50 matched Bilstein adaptive dampers ensure perfect roadholding. The load is braked with a Brembo brake system with red painted brake calipers which is adapted to the performance with 390 millimeter discs. The development and construction was taken over by Italdesign while the look of Nissan designers from London and the United States was obtained. If we receive timely information on further details of the GT-R50 there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if yours is just ours Feed subscribe to.
