The e-revolution in the automotive world must also be transferred to armored vehicles in the foreseeable future. And in this regard, the South African company armor max created the first armored Jaguar I-Pace. the plating enables B4 protection and is said to even be usable without sacrificing performance. Armormax crafted the project with technical assistance from Jaguar Land Rover's local office, so the modifications don't significantly change the design of the Jaguar I-Pace. And the conversion, officially approved by Jaguar, even allows you to fully maintain the factory warranty.
Jaguar I-Pace with armor
The I-Pace was given all-round ballistic discs with a thickness of 22 mm and it also stands on a set of special ones Runflat tires. Incidentally, the B4 classification means that the Stromer can withstand shots from handguns and shotguns, but has to capitulate to larger rifles. And extra armor usually adds significant weight, affecting both the EV's performance and range. Since Armormax but the "lightest armor available anywhere in the world", installed, one proudly claims that the performance of the I-Pace is not affected.
add a few kilograms
Nevertheless, it cannot be avoided that the armored vehicle will be slightly heavier than the series at 2.208 kg. The question is how much does the curb weight increase? If you want more protection for your vehicle, regardless of whether it is an electric car or not, Armormax is definitely the right choice.
