The Swede Christian von Koenigsegg founded the Koenigsegg company in the year 1994 with his passion for car tuning. He made it possible for him to go into series production in the year 2000. Saab and Volvo supported him significantly in the development phase of a super sports car in the Swedish Ängelholm. In addition to tuning him high-quality materials, light weight of the vehicle and a correspondingly high engine performance were important. In June 2009 it came to the seemingly big deal. The Swedish insolvent subsidiary of General Motors should be bought from Koenigsegg for a financing of 450 million euros. The deal fell through in November 2009. The company continued to develop successfully. At the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019, Jesko von Koenigsegg and his wife Brita presented the new mega vehicle "Jesko" to the world. A mega-storey with a 5,0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that runs on E85 biofuel. The "Jesko" was named after CEO Christian von Koenigsegg's father. It was sold out immediately.
