Koenigsegg

The history of the renowned Swedish super sports car manufacturer Koenigsegg is as impressive as the vehicles themselves. Founded by the visionary Swede Christian von Koenigsegg in 1994, the brand quickly became synonymous with excellence and innovation in the automotive industry. In 2000, Koenigsegg began series production of its super sports cars, which were characterized by high-quality materials, minimal weight and impressive engine performance. Supported by established Swedish automotive brands such as Saab and Volvo, Ängelholm established itself as one of the leading manufacturers of high-performance cars. Although a planned deal with the Swedish subsidiary of General Motors failed in 2009, there was no stopping them. They continued to maintain their position in the market and demonstrated their mastery of automobile manufacturing year after year. A perfect example of this was the presentation of the mega vehicle “Jesko” at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019. With a powerful 5,0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that runs on E85 biofuel, the “Jesko” is a real Koenigsegg. Interestingly, the car was named after Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of CEO and founder Christian von Koenigsegg. No wonder this masterpiece of engineering sold out immediately. The legacy lives on and the brand remains a byword for excellence and Scandinavian design.
