Kia Stinger Tribute Edition - one last hooray for the sporty Korean!

With the Stinger, Kia ventured into previously unknown territory in 2018. Positioned directly against BBA vehicles, this model had a hard time right from the start. One could already guess that the shot would backfire, because the Stinger was never a sales success and fell well short of the ambitious expectations of the Korean return. Now the model will soon be discontinued and just in time for the farewell, the premium Korean will receive one last special series called tribute edition. Only 1.000 of the model will be built and sold worldwide. We would like to introduce you to the special edition now.

Gray is trump!

The model comes standard in a new matte gray shade called Moonscape. However, the color Ascot Green is also available as an option. Regardless of the finish, the Stinger always gets black Exterior mirror caps, 19-inch five-twin-spoke gloss black alloy wheels and Brembo brake calipers. The chassis was not touched and therefore the Stinger should still offer a high level of driving dynamics.

Special interior for the last edition!

To stand out from the base, Kia gave the Tribute Edition a special interior. Terracotta brown leather on the steering wheel, seats, door panels and even the inner door handles create a classy yet sporty ambience. These are joined carbon deposits in the cockpit that bring a little sports car feeling to the premium sedan. Last but not least, there is an embroidered wasp motif on the headrests, which can be immediately associated with the name "Stinger" in English-speaking countries.

A 3,3-liter V6 drives the Korean!

Downsizing is alien to the Stinger and so a 3,3-liter V6 turbo petrol engine does its job in the front. This perform Whole 370 hp and tight 510 Newton meters of maximum torque. Equipped in this way, the Korean hit sprints from zero to 100 km/h in a good five seconds and has a top speed of 270 km/h.

Our conclusion:

  • It's a shame that such a likeable exotic car is being dropped from the model range. We will miss it, but this last special edition sweetens the Advent season for many car fans.
