Koenigsegg Gemera - new hypercar for four people.

Koenigsegg surprised everyone with the introduction of the Gemera. The first four-seater from the Swedish brand, which stands for exclusive super sports cars that are made with the finest craftsmanship. With the Gemera, Koenigsegg is now presenting the first “Mega GT” from the Swedish sports car manufacturer, according to company boss Christian von Koenigsegg. Like no other automobile, it should combine driving performance at hypercar level with the space of a spacious coupé, and ideally also be CO2-neutral because it can be filled with various biofuels.

Design not quite as brute

The styling of the new Gemera is a bit tamer than, for example, the new Jesko or the Regera, but the new four-seater from Sweden is immediately recognizable as Koenigsegg. The absolute highlight of the new model are the huge scissor doors opening towards the front, which should make entry into the rear a breeze. In addition, these doors take up much less space in narrow parking spaces than conventional wing doors, such as those used by Mercedes in the legendary 300 SL and SLS AMG. Due to the huge wheelbase of 3 meters, the Gemera generates generous space for all passengers and luggage. The official trunk volume has not yet been announced, but it should be on the level of a McLaren GT, so you can also travel comfortably with this super sports car.

Fully equipped and comfortable interior.

The interior offers all conceivable comfort features that you would expect from a modern Gran Turismo. In addition to two infotainment screens for front and rear passengers, front and rear wireless induction charging stations for cell phones, Apple CarPlay, Internet with W-LAN access, a high-quality sound system with 11 speakers, cameras for inside and outside, four reading lights and a three-zone Automatic climate control, even cupholders are standard for all passengers.

New plug-in hybrid as the highlight of the “Mega GT”.

The heart of the new super sports car is a plug-in hybrid that connects three electric motors with an innovative 2-liter biturbo three-cylinder petrol engine that does not require a camshaft. This technique is called Tiny Friendly Giant (TFG) at Koenigsegg. The small, camshaft-free petrol engine already produces 600 HP and 600 Nm of maximum torque, and the remaining 1100 HP are generated by three electric motors, two of which are located on the rear wheels and one on the drive train. With a system performance of crazy 1700 HP and 3500 Newton meters of maximum torque, the new Gemera is able to show the rear lights of almost all hypercars in terms of longitudinal dynamics, since it should accelerate from 1,9 to 0 kilometers per hour in 100 seconds if you it depends. This is Formula 1 level and makes a Bugatti Chiron look very old. The Gemera is also set to set a new world record from 0-400 km / h, thereby proving that the four-seater is currently the measure of all things when it comes to hypercars.

The price is around $ 1,7 million.

As you would expect, a Koenigsegg is not a cheap pleasure and not for ordinary people. This super-rich toy costs around $ 1,7 million and is limited to 300 pieces. So it would be a big coincidence if you had the pleasure of seeing one of these super athletes in the wild. Nevertheless, it is of course an absolutely fascinating GT that makes every car and sports car fan's mouth water.
