Youngtimer enthusiasts save the purchase of additional original M3 struts, which then have to be converted directly from the chassis manufacturer for the modern damper technology and the thread height adjustment. The KW Classic Variant 3 coilover kit in the M3 ensures a clear performance gain through better road connections, more direct handling and, depending on the wheel / tire combination, a noticeable plus in rolling comfort. The reason for this is the KW multi-valve technology used in the Variant 3 dampers with preconfigured high-speed valves and adjustable low-speed valves for the compression and rebound forces. This ensures that the driving behavior is as tight as necessary and as comfortable as possible. With 16 clicks, the cross-section in the low-speed rebound valve can be reduced or enlarged in order to set the damping exactly.

If the rebound is opened, the driving comfort increases. If they are closed, the pitching and rolling movements of the body structure are significantly reduced and the handling becomes even more dynamic. "In simple terms, the rebound's job is to connect the M3 body to the road, while the compression affects the deflection and supports the chassis," explains Jonas Ehrmann. If the low-speed pressure level, which can be set with twelve clicks, is closed or opened, the suspension tuning can be further influenced in terms of steering behavior and grip level of the tires. The high-speed valves, on the other hand, cannot be adjusted any further. Your task is to open the valves when driving fast over bumps, transverse grooves or joints at motorway bridges and the resulting high-speed excitation to guarantee harmonious damping and neutral body movement. "

With the new KW Classic coilovers, all BMW M3 (E30) as well as the special models M3 European Champion, BMW M3 Cecotto, M3 Evolution II, Sport Evolution and the M3 Cabriolet can be equipped. With the KW Classic coilover kit, the M3 can be lowered continuously from 25 to 55 millimeters. The recommended retail price for the KW Classic coilover kit Variant 3 including the steering knuckles is 2.699 euros. On the other hand, the KW Classic Variant 1.899 including stub axle, which cannot be further adjusted in the damping, is available for 1 euros. The KW classic coilover kits available for the BMW M3 E30 are also suitable for installation in all other BMW E30s with rear-wheel drive in order to be able to use the M3 bolt circle of 5 × 120. To do this, however, the brakes and coupling rods on the E30 must also be adjusted. The chassis manufacturer also has the option of sending in the original BMW M3 (E30) front axle struts for processing.
