Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, presented today "Direzione Cor Tauri", the Decarbonisation roadmap for the brand with the bull for future models and the Sant'Agata Bolognese site as part of the company's holistic ecological sustainability approach. The focus in electrification of the products is always based on new technologies and solutions that a Maximum performance and driving dynamicsas one is used to from Lamborghini. As a reminder of the logo chosen by the company's founder Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963, the name of the future plans is "Direzione Cor Tauri". Cor Tauri is the brightest star in the Taurus constellation and symbolizes Lamborghini's electrification strategy, which remains true to the principles and spirit of the brand.

"Direction Cor Tauri"

Stephan Winkelmann explains: “Lamborghini's electrification strategy represents a change of course due to a radically changed context. We would like to make our contribution and continue to reduce the environmental impact with specific projects. Our answer is an integrated approach that encompasses everything from the products to the Sant'Agata Bolognese site and leads us into a more sustainable future that remains true to our DNA. Lamborghini has always stood for the highest level of technological know-how in the production of engines with outstanding performance: this will continue to have top priority in the development of innovations in the future. Today's promise, carried by the biggest investment plan in the brand's history, is proof of our deep commitment to our customers, but also to our fans, our employees and their families, the region where we were born, Emilia -Romagna, Italy and Italian products. "

Direzione Cor Tauri is divided into three phases:

  • Under the sign of the internal combustion engine (2021-2022): This section will be celebrated with the presentation of models that will pay tribute to the company's latest hit streak. In the course of the constant growth in sales and the seven-fold increase in sales in the last 15 years, Lamborghini has impressively demonstrated its supremacy in the automotive industry as a top-class super sports car manufacturer. Unique design, groundbreaking technical innovations thanks to huge investments in research and development, the highest quality and craftsmanship form the foundation of a product range that ranges from the Urus SUV, which laid the foundation for today's business success, to the special series, which is based on technical and stylistic masterpieces shine, enough. The youngest representative of the latter models, the Sián, was the first Lamborghini to introduce hybridization with hybrid technology. This phase will be shaped by the development of internal combustion engines for model versions that pay tribute to the glorious history of the brand and its legendary vehicles, past and present, but always driven by the visionary entrepreneurial spirit that has always characterized Lamborghini. For this year, the company has announced the launch of two new products in its V12 model.

  • Hybridization (by the end of 2024): Lamborghini will launch its first hybrid vehicle in 2023; The entire model range will be electrified by the end of 2024. The manufacturer's engineers and technicians will continue to focus on performance and the authentic Lamborghini driving experience when developing new technologies. The use of lightweight construction materials made from carbon fiber will be decisive in limiting the additional weight caused by electrification. The company's goal in this phase is to reduce CO2Emissions by 50% from the beginning of 2025. The hybrid transition will be made possible by a Groundbreaking investment: over 1,5 billion euros in four years, the largest investment in the history of Lamborghini and a clear sign of the pronounced sense of responsibility of the company from Sant'Agata Bolognese, which aims to provide concrete answers with significant innovations in a time of profound change that is affecting the entire automotive industry.

  • First fully electric Lamborghini (second half of the decade): The second half of the decade will be all about electric drives with a planned fourth fully electric model. The aim of this technological innovation is once again to ensure outstanding performance and to position the new product at the top of the segment. This is how Lamborghini sees the end of its decarbonization roadmap: Cor Tauri, the brightest star in the Taurus constellation, which sets the direction for Lamborghini, is represented by a fourth fully electric model.

The Lamborghini 2030 Agenda is based on one holistic vision of the company's sustainability strategy: an approach that encompasses everything from the products to the Sant'Agata Bolognese site, from the production lines to the offices. A 160 000 m2 large area, which since 2015 as CO2- is certified neutrally and can still use this seal of approval despite the doubling of the production site in recent years. In addition to reducing CO2-Emissions are also integral parts of this strategy, including environmental protection, sustainability of the supply chain, attentive treatment of employees and corporate social responsibility.

The heart and orientation of the Direzione Cor Tauri plans is once again the brand's DNA and its innate ability to turn challenges into opportunities. This is achieved through ongoing technological innovations that bring about an improvement in performance and the driving experience while still reducing the restrictions of the increasingly urgent CO2-Meet standards. A journey to a new company, Lamborghini, which, however, always remains true to itself and its roots.

Of course, that wasn't the end of it!
