No question about that 2JZ engine from the old Supra, like the Supra itself, is a legend. But basically you can say that it trumps the V10 from the Lamborghini Gallardo not. Of course there are countless 2JZ's with far more than 1.000 PS, the V10 from the Audi shelf is also able to do this if you have a Biturbo kit installed. So why bother to swap the engines with immense effort? No idea! But the fact is that (almost) exactly that was done in the rear of this Gallardo. It's the vehicle from Bryce Yeager who featured the 2JZ bull on his YouTube channel in June 2020 and who has done the conversion over the past 17 months. Since then he's been blue painted, he has the 2JZ with massive 85 mm turbocharger there and ultra-fat GOVAD rims in the wheel arch.

The YouTube channel also shows that the renovation was less expensive than you might think. Because he has already bought the vehicle without the V10. Thus, the idea and its implementation is also a little more comprehensible. Because it was no exchange, but more or less a second chance for a Gallardo that would otherwise have been scrapped.

And it's not just a Lambo with one Supra motor on the rear axle, it's a solid rebuild that proves that with the right tools and enough ambition, you can achieve anything. But it was a long way to get there. Bryce had to Extend the frame, so that the 2JZ fits, which means that the rear wheels and drive too set to the rear are. The installation of the massive Turbo and a new one rear suspension then led to the entire stern area was removedso that everything is behind the side windows now is visible.

super fat rear tires outdoors

The result is a particularly extreme look for a Road car, but the Lambo looks with the fat rear tires without disguise just wonderful. And of course the huge ones too rear wing made of carbon fiber and that x-shaped element, which fills the gap between the exposed exhaust pipes and the diffuser, is partly responsible for the unique look. But the modifications go far beyond the rear area. The Gallardo has a new one front apron with Carbon inserts and XXL splitter there and also the Decklid as well as the 3D printed front fender with racing slats are a highlight. And the Interior is also completely different. the Door panels were removed, for example, and with Plastic glass panes Mistake. Something like that too McLaren Senna hat.

The dashboard and center console are gone

The original dashboard and the Center console are also gone and belong to the new components racing seats, Roll cage and transparent fire wall with removable panels for easy access to the engine. And what does the engine actually do? As far as we know, it brings it turbocharged 2JZ with the current set-up on good 1.500 PSwhich, for reasons of durability, are currently set to "only" 1.000 are limited. By the way, it is switched by means of Six-speed manual and acoustically, the 2JZ sounds much more aggressive than a Lamborghini V10 and also clearly lauter. The following video shows the vehicle that is on the SEMA show 2021 was issued.
