In the spring of this year, the American tuner Hennessey Performance surprised us with a biturbo kit for the Audi R8 V10. This is surprising because the company from Texas had previously specialized in refining typical American muscle cars, supercars, trucks and SUVs. A German athlete was rather unusual. But since you are already dealing with exotic species like that Jaguar F-Type busy and apparently already on Porsche Taycan the jump to the R8 was not overly large or unusual for the Hennessey team. And as is well known, the Flunder from Ingolstadt has the same 5,2-liter V10 engine as the Lamborghini Huracan. So it was natural for Hennessy to equip the Italian with the so-called HPE900 kit.
2,6 seconds at 100 km / h
And that is exactly what they have now done and presented a first rebuilt example. A snow-white Huracan whose V10 sucker was hugely collapsed. And the result is identical to the key data for the R8. With two ball-bearing turbochargers, a new high-flow air intake system, large inlet pipes, two blow-off valves, a thermal coating for the exhaust system, downpipes, an in-house chip tuning, a racing turbocharger oil pump, a new air-water charge air cooler system, new heat exchangers and a few other small details, the V10 engine in the Lambo now expresses impressive 912 hp at 7.400 rpm. on all 4 wheels. As the HPE900-Huracan, this results in an acceleration from 0 to 60 miles (approx. 97 km) in just 2,6 seconds and the bull completes the quarter mile in only 9,8 seconds and at a speed of 145 miles (approx. 233 km /H).
Warranty for the HPE900 conversion included
And as for the R8, the Huracan conversion is also guaranteed for one year or 12.000 miles (approx. 20.000 km). The Hennessey Performance Kit is suitable for all 2015 - 2020 Lamborghini Huracan. The Huracán LP580-2 RWD versions, the Evo and the performant Counting. Basically, the engine is always identical. No matter whether it is the V10 with 580 hp or the one with 640 hp. We currently have no further details. If we receive timely information on further changes not previously mentioned, there is of course an update for this report.
