Aventador successor: this is the Lamborghini Revuelto LB744!

In the year of its 60th company anniversary, Automobili Lamborghini presents the completely newly developed Revuelto[1]. It is the first super sports car with a V12 plug-in hybrid drive, a true High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV). The Revuelto completely redefines the concepts of performance, sportiness and driving pleasure, making it the ideal successor to the legendary Aventador. Because it uses an unprecedented architecture, an advanced design, highly efficient aerodynamics and an ultra-light carbon body. The interaction of a completely newly developed V12 combustion engine with three electric motors enables the maximum output of 1015 CV / 746 kW. For the first time, Lamborghini has combined a twelve-cylinder engine with a dual-clutch transmission in the Revuelto.

Lamborghini Revuelto LB744

  • The new reference in super sports cars: Lamborghini presents the first electrified high-performance vehicle with 1015 CV / 746 kW
  • Groundbreaking architecture: V12 naturally aspirated engine combined with a transverse eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and three electric motors
  • 13 driving modes including a fully electric all-wheel drive
  • Aerodynamics and design for the greatest possible synergy between efficiency, function and style
  • Successor to the legendary Aventador
  • New Lamborghini infotainment system offers a comprehensive experience for driver and front passenger

The powertrain combines true high-performance components: the new combustion engine has a specific output per liter of 127 CV and works together with both the front axial-flow engines with an outstanding power-to-weight ratio and the radial-flow engine on the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox - a first of its kind in a twelve-cylinder Lamborghini. A high-performance lithium-ion battery with a specific energy density of 4500 W/kg supplies the three electric motors, and the battery also supplies the power for the purely electric driving modes.

"The new Revuelto is a milestone in Lamborghini's history and an important pillar of our Direzione Cor Tauri electrification strategy," explains Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “The Revuelto is a unique and revolutionary vehicle, but still remains true to our DNA: the V12 as an icon of our super sports car origins and our tradition. But we also developed the Revuelto to break with old traditions by combining a new twelve-cylinder with three electric motors. It strikes the perfect balance with which we can deliver the emotions our customers want while still reducing emissions.”

the most important element: carbon fibers

Carbon fiber is the main structural component in this new supercar. They are processed in the factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese according to the highest level of craftsmanship. They are used in the monofuse layer and the frame as well as most parts of the body. With the help of its powerful engine and extensive use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials, the Revuelto achieves the best power-to-weight ratio in Lamborghini history: 1,75 kg/CV.

Because the new Revuelto combines all of these characteristics, it is at the top of its segment with these performance values: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2,5 seconds and its top speed is in excess of 350 km/h. This technical data meets extraordinary dynamic measures - electronic torque vectoring, an all-wheel drive that is also possible in fully electric operation - and ensures that the supercar can demonstrate its talents on the circuit as well as on the road.

"With the Revuelto, we are taking the Lamborghini driving experience to a new, outstanding level," promises Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. “Compared to its predecessor, the Revuelto takes a significant step forward, especially in terms of feedback and response, and always offers an absolutely authentic and emotional driving experience. Right from the start, the development goal was to maximize both performance and driving pleasure.”

While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
