Lamborghini Squadra Corse Huracán GT3 EVO2 racing version!

Lamborghini presents the new Huracán GT3 EVO2, conceived and developed by the Lamborghini Squadra Corse based on the Huracán STO. It shares important design elements, rear-wheel drive and the naturally aspirated V10 engine, which delivers 640 hp in the road version. Compared to the Huracán GT3 EVO, which was registered in 2019 on the basis of the road version of the Huracán EVO, the GT3 EVO2 fully complies with the new FIA 2022 technical regulations. It features completely new aerodynamic solutions and a new intake system. The distinctive hexagonal air scoop and rear fin come from the Huracán STO and contribute to a more efficient intake system and better vehicle balance.

The air scoop is connected to a snorkel that replaces the side air intakes. It optimally guides the air flow directly to the engine and thus ensures even better response to the driver's commands. The ten newly electronically actuated throttle bodies increase the efficiency of the V10 with titanium valves. The entire system developed by the Lamborghini Squadra Corse is mounted on the engine with only four screws. This solution was first used on the Essenza SCV12 to facilitate maintenance work.

The full carbon fiber body features a muscular design created in collaboration with Centro Stile. The new splitters, diffuser and underbody improve aerodynamic efficiency. The underbody made of carbon fiber and coated with extremely durable Zylon, together with the new diffuser, ensures higher downforce than the current GT3 EVO. The innovations also include the rear wing, mounted on supports in aluminum alloy (Ergal 7075 T6) inspired by the STO. The new supports allow a more precise adjustment of the wing compared to those of the EVO model.

new roll cage in the Huracán GT3 EVO2

The revised roll cage with two additional rear pillars and the brand new side panels made of a carbon-kevlar honeycomb structure have already been tested on the Essenza SCV12. They increase safety in the event of a side impact, in accordance with the provisions of the 2022 FIA Regulations. The Plexiglas side windows are now fixed to the carbon fiber door panel via a collar of screws to increase structural rigidity and reliability. The braking system has also been upgraded with new calipers and pads designed by the Squadra Corse to optimize performance in endurance and sprint races. They have been developed together with Traction Control (TCS) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to make the car easy to control when grip is low, even for amateur drivers. The car will be delivered with PZero tires from Pirelli, the long-standing partner of the Squadra Corse, in size 325/680 18 at the front and 325/705 18 at the rear.

Giorgio Sanna, Lamborghini Motorsport Director, explains: “The new Huracán GT3 EVO2 is not simply an evolution of the current vehicle. It is a new project that underpins the technology transfer between Lamborghini's motorsport division and the company. It has two difficult tasks to fulfil: First, it must be as successful as previous generations of the Huracán GT3, which have won more than 40 international titles in six seasons. On the other hand, he should repeat their sales success and help to achieve the goal of 500 Huracán racing cars sold since 2015.” The vehicle will be delivered to customers from the second half of 2022. All Huracán GT3 EVO can be upgraded to GT3 EVO2 specifications with a special evolution kit. His track debut is scheduled for the 24 2023 Hours of Daytona.
