Here comes what feels like the five hundred thousandth carbon body kit for the Lamborghini Urus. It's called MD1 and is supposed to make the Italian super SUV appear even more aggressive and dynamic. And basically it was also successful, but the other tuners can do it too! But the debut project from the Romanian specialist "Marius Designhaus" (the name comes from the founder & automobile designer Marius Dumitrascu) has a special feature. The composition of the material used. The new aerodynamic components are not just made of carbon. Marius Designhaus mixes the ultra-light carbon, namely with Zylon. But what is Cylon anyway? Zylon is a brand name and it is a synthetic fiber from the manufacturer Toyobo based in Osaka (Japan). Zylon is an evolution of Kevlar that is far stronger.
high tear resistance and great elasticity
The material has a high tear strength and is also very elastic (270 GPa). Both points are each a factor of 2 above those of aramid fibers. And Zylon only burns under special conditions and only melts at 650 degrees. The material is used, for example, in the parachute reins for the Mars Rover, the retaining straps for the wheels of Formula 1 vehicles or their cockpit protection. And the tuner also uses a special Nomex honeycomb core on some components that is only found in Hypercars components. Stainless steel AISI316 screw inserts and suitable class 5 titanium screws from the aviation industry are also used to fasten the components. Yes, back to the new components for the Urus. In addition to the aprons mentioned, there is also a new bonnet, there are covers for the rear-view mirrors, extensions for the front and rear wheel arches and, of course, matching side skirts are not missing.
the MD1 kit is limited to just 30 units
The rear bumper has of course integrated an aggressive diffuser and with an additional rear and roof spoiler and modified frames for the air openings of the rear apron, the rear view of the Italian is extremely powerful. And there are also two filigree slats on the roof. They are designed to connect the front and rear of the vehicle. While the price for the complete kit has not yet been announced, information has already been leaked that there will only be 1 units of the Lamborghini Urus MD30 kit.
