Land Rover Defender as "75th Limited Edition"!

There aren't many automotive icons, but the Land Rover Defender is undoubtedly one of them. Originally designed as a military vehicle for the British Army, it soon became popular with many civilian users, becoming the epitome of the British off-roader. It's hard to believe, but 75 years have already passed since the first Defender left the factory. To mark the occasion, the traditional British brand is now launching a very special edition of its long-running favorite, which was completely reinvented a few years ago. The "75th limited edition“ special series, shines with various features and is only in the color Grasmere Green .

two and four doors

Well-heeled Defender lovers can choose between the short, two-door version called Defender 90 as well as the four-door standard version named Defender 110. Only fans of the extra long Defender 130 variant have to make do with other versions, because the special series is not available for the XL body shape. Externally, the edition can be recognized by a special "75 Years" emblem on the tailgate and on colour-coordinated ones alloy wheels, also held at Grasmere Green.

Luxurious and at the same time robust interior!

Robust materials are used in the interior, such as a Robustec mentioned substance is used, which covers the center console. the Seats have been upholstered in a material Land Rover calls Resist Ebony, which is similar to the fabric called Robustec. In terms of equipment, the special edition is based on the luxurious one HSE variant and this leaves almost nothing to be desired.

Amenities like Matrix LED headlights, Head-Up Display or 360 degree camera must not be missing, like one Induction charging for smartphones, one Three-zone automatic climate control or electrically adjustable Seats with memory function. Furthermore, the special model comes with a large, electrically operated folding roof made of fabric. Optionally, the customer can also Panoramic glass roof order, which can also be opened wide.

There are several engine variants to choose from!

The drive sources are the P400 called petrol engine, that D300 called diesel engine and a plug-in hybrid called P400e to select. The P400 has a 3-litre R6 turbocharged petrol engine 400 hp and 550 Newton meters maximum torque during the 300 PS strong diesel called D300 at attention 650 Newton meter maximum torque comes.

A plug-in hybrid variant is also available for those with a green conscience 404 hp and a whopping 640 Newton meters Is provided. The performance specifications are achieved through the combination of a 2-liter turbo petrol engine and an electric motor. In EV mode, however, the maximum electric range of just 51 km is more than poor from our point of view. Of course, that is a matter of course in the Defender TerrainResponse called all-wheel drive system, and the power transmission takes place exclusively via a Limited Edition automatic transmission.

A worthy anniversary model of an automotive institution!

In our eyes, the special model is a worthy homage to 75 years of Land Rover Defender. And despite Land Rover's usual high pricing, the series, of which we unfortunately don't know how many pieces it's limited to, should find a sale. at good 90.000 € off we go, and for that the customer gets the Defender 90 version with two doors and a short wheelbase. The 3.000 version with four doors and a medium wheelbase costs around €110 extra. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report.
