Classic with real steam - Land Rover Series IIA Project Henry

East Coast Defender (ECD Automotive Design) has once again created an absolute highlight. Namely the project "Henry" based on a Land Rover of the Series IIA. A vehicle very similar to that Project Harmony from July 2019. Only more spartan! As the ultimate highlight, of course, there was also the thick V8-LS3 under the hood, which is a real one from the conversion Restomod vehicle can be. The British tuner actually installs the V8 in every vehicle and so of course, the over 400 hp engine should not be missing in the completely restored classic in glossy Chawton White. The V8 block was coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission and of course the robust all-wheel drive of the Defender is still available.

original 16 inch steel rims

And as already mentioned, the body was gutted and restored from scratch and has been in the condition of a new car ever since. However, optical changes have largely been avoided. The style from back then should be maintained and so, for example, the 16 inch steel rims are still installed. The wheelset with BF Goodrich All Terrain T / A off-road tires has been combined with a new sports suspension, which brings the driving characteristics to the level of the equivalent. The vehicle from 1961 drives and brakes (Sports brake system is also installed) essentially no different from a current SUV. And that also applies to lighting, for example. Main headlights from the 1976 Series IIA model are installed, which ensure significantly improved illumination. And of course the cabin is also unique and even processed to a higher quality than at the time of delivery.

Leather in chestnut brown

ECD Automotive Design also uses the Chawton White paintwork here and combines it with a completely new leather interior in Lady Terra (brown) with a seam in chestnut on the seats, dashboard and door inserts. In addition, countless small details such as the classic round instruments or the typical 3-spoke steering wheel. Everything is in pristine condition and works perfectly. The Land Rover Series IIA from ECD, which was built from 1961 to 1971, is once again a milestone in the company's history and should be a loyal companion to the proud owner for many decades. The only limitation was to improve only the components that were really necessary in view of the increased performance. The rest is mostly original! If we receive timely information on further changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
