MSO makes handcrafted Gulf livery possible!

Gulf Formula Elite is now the first fill lubricant in all McLaren Automotive supercars and hypercars leaving the McLaren Production Center in Woking, Surrey, England. The technology teams at Gulf and McLaren Automotive have jointly developed and tested a lubricant that offers the ultimate protection for McLaren's high-performance V8 and V6 engines, even under extreme conditions, in order to consistently deliver top performance. Gulf Formula Elite uses Thermoshield technology to meet McLaren's high performance and efficiency requirements by forming a robust coating on all critical engine parts for enhanced wear protection.

Gulf Formula Elite maintains optimal temperature by aiding in heat dissipation, actively preventing oil deterioration and helping to provide better deposit control.

"The longstanding partnership between McLaren and Gulf is all about technical excellence. We are excited that our supercar and hypercar customers will benefit from Gulf Formula Elite. Together with Gulf we have carefully selected and tested Gulf Formula Elite to ensure that it not only protects our high performance engines but also helps deliver sustained performance in even the most extreme conditions." Gareth Dunsmore, Chief Marketing Officer, McLaren Automotive

Mike Jones, Chief Executive Officer, Gulf Oil International

“Our technical partnership with McLaren Automotive allows Gulf to offer its industry-leading expertise and world-class research and development capabilities to accelerate the development of high-performance technologies such as Gulf Formula Elite. "We are committed to supporting McLaren Automotive in its relentless pursuit of excellence and are excited to share our latest world-class product - Gulf Formula Elite - with McLaren customers."

The connection between Gulf and McLaren began in 1968 and continued in both Formula 1 and the Can-Am series where the partnership won more than 40 races, as well as in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1990s with the famous McLaren F1 GTR. The two iconic brands will be reunited in July 2020. The Gulf branding will also feature at McLaren Automotive's PURE customer events around the world. Gulf will also be attending the McLaren Automotive PURE customer events, which will be held around the world. Selected customers will be able to purchase their McLaren supercars from McLaren Special Operations (MSO) in Gulf finishes and colors hand-painted, reminiscent of the famous F1 GTR Le Mans car remember that drove in the 1990s. About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
