Crazy: BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION "One of Ten"!

The wide-ranging BRABUS supercar portfolio now has a very special attraction: With the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION "One of Ten", the German company, which is accredited as a vehicle manufacturer by the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Flensburg, is presenting a 662 kW / 900 hp and 280 km/h high-performance pickup in a class of its own. A brand-new Mercedes-AMG G 63 serves as the basis, which BRABUS has transformed into an exclusive and extremely powerful all-wheel drive car with a loading area. The tailor-made rear module behind the four-seater cabin has side walls made of high-strength, yet very light carbon.

The spectacular look is further enhanced by the BRABUS WIDESTAR ROCKET EDITION widebody version with specially designed BRABUS Monoblock Z 24-inch high-tech forged wheels with BRABUS Aero-Discs made of visible carbon. Technology partner Continental developed the high-performance road tires to match the pickup, up to size 355/25 R 24 on the rear axle.

BRABUS RideControl aluminum coilover suspension

Another special development is the BRABUS RideControl aluminum coilover kit, with which the handling is significantly sportier and safer than you would expect from a pickup thanks to the lowering of the center of gravity and different levels of damping that can be selected from the cockpit.

This means that the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION "One of Ten" can safely convert the superior performance of its high-performance engine into driving fun par excellence at any time. The drive is currently the most powerful engine from the largest manufacturer-independent tuner in the world: The BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 displacement engine is created in the company's high-tech engine shop. After the expansion of the eight-cylinder to 4,5 liters displacement, the upgrade of the biturbo system with specially developed high-end components and a special tuning of the electronic engine management, this power plant delivers 662 kW / 900 hp and produces a maximum torque of 1250 Nm, which in the car is limited to 1050 Nm.

Despite an unladen weight of 2 kilograms, the performance of the exclusive pickup is on par with that of a sports car: the BRABUS P 720 ROCKET EDITION "One of Ten" catapults itself from a standstill to 900 km/h in just 3,7 seconds. It only brakes at 100 km/h the electronic speed limiter activates propulsion. The supercar of the "One of Ten" edition shown here has a special paint finish in "Rocket Grey". The BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior, crafted to perfection in the in-house upholstery workshop, is presented in the finest, royal black leather. There are also contrasting elements in the same bright red that also sets distinctive accents on the body and wheels. The exclusive interior also includes sporty carbon inlays and individual rear seats with a tailor-made center console with extendable tables.

The BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION "One of Ten" in the version presented here costs exactly 773.069,22 euros (price including 19 percent VAT in Germany!). The BRABUS XLP pickup based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 has found numerous proud owners all over the world since its presentation. Through the use of specially developed portal axles and the resulting ground clearance of enormous 49 centimeters, these BRABUS supercars are conditioned for maximum off-road mobility. At the same time, there were also requests for a spectacular high-performance street version of the pickup from Bottrop. A wish that is now being fulfilled with the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION "One of Ten".

In this variant, too, the pickup body conversion includes the extension of the wheelbase by 50 centimeters and the associated rear axle suspension. The special module required for this for the steel ladder frame of the G-Class is the result of the use of state-of-the-art design and construction software and production according to the strictest quality standards. As a result, the torsional rigidity of the frame is fully retained despite the lengthening. The unchanged, spacious passenger cabin remains just as robust. It is separated from the new loading area behind the rear seats by a new sheet steel element with an integrated, naturally heated rear window. It is a completely new construction, whose side walls are made of carbon using the complex prepreg process.

The robust floor of the loading area, which is finished with soft teak planking, and the tailgate that opens to the side are made of sheet steel. The double, matt black coated steel bar behind the cab not only contributes to the exciting pickup look of this supercar: bulky and heavy loads can also be securely lashed down there. The BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION "One of Ten" is 5,38 meters long. A standard G 63 without a spare wheel at the rear is exactly 68,9 centimeters shorter.

The complex pickup body conversion is made even more spectacular by a tailor-made variant of the BRABUS WIDESTAR widebody version with additional ROCKET EDITION visible carbon applications. The front apron, which connects precisely to the fender flares on the left and right, has air intakes with integrated daytime running lights and an additional front spoiler with side flaps painted bright red on both sides. Equally essential for the formidable front view of the P 900 is the BRABUS visible carbon radiator grille. It has integrated RAM AIR intakes with red illuminated ROCKET Launch Ambience Light and an illuminated BRABUS logo. The BRABUS "Powerview" bonnet with its integrated glass window allows a view of the V8 engine.

The ROCKET EDITION style also includes the upgrade of the extensions on the front and rear axles with carbon elements and air outlets. The special fenders provide space for the currently largest high-tech wheels in the BRABUS range. The BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" rims with a diameter of 24 inches are manufactured using high-end forging and machining technology, which ensures maximum strength. For this high-performance pickup, they were painted black and provided with red pinstriping on the outer horn. The BRABUS ROCKET 900 aero discs made of visible carbon give their ten-spoke design a decidedly sporty upgrade.

In keeping with the mighty appearance of the high-performance truck, these wheels perfectly fill the space created by the spacers. Technology partner Continental developed high-performance road tires especially for this BRABUS supercar, which enable sporty handling and a top speed of 280 km/h despite the high weight. The ten-inch wide rims at the front are fitted with 295/30 ZR 24 tires. 12Jx24 wheels with 355/25 ZR 24 tires turn under the rear extensions.

The BRABUS RideControl aluminum coilover suspension with spring struts milled from the solid at the front and shock absorbers with integrated heat sinks on the rear axle was specially tailored to the low-profile tires, the vehicle weight and the long wheelbase. This allows the pickup to be lowered by up to 45 millimeters compared to the base car. The firmness of the damping can be selected using the standard DYNAMIC SELECT switch in the cockpit.

The extravagant side view is also characterized by the running boards adapted to the longer wheelbase. When the central locking system is activated or a door handle is pulled, a BRABUS light carpet on both sides of the vehicle illuminates the floor next to the vehicle and thus enables safe entry and exit. Two chrome tailpipes of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system protrude in front of the rear wheels on each side of the vehicle. They are framed by a visible carbon panel with an integrated ROCKET Launch Ambience Light in red. Other extravagant design elements are the exterior mirror housings and door handles in visible carbon. The carbon roof wing at the rear end of the cabin is another exciting eye-catcher with its red side panels.

At the rear, a visible carbon cover with embedded BRABUS lettering documents the noble origins of this supercar. The WIDESTAR apron with integrated carbon diffuser emphasizes the sporting virtues of this supercar, as do the red painted flaps on the left and right at the rear ends of the wheel arches. What the excitingly sporty look of the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION "One of Ten" promises is also kept under the hood in the proven tradition of 45 years of the company: At first glance, the engine cover in red visible carbon catches the eye. The 900 label reveals that it is currently the most powerful engine that is currently being manufactured in the BRABUS high-tech engine shop.

There, the eight-cylinder of the G 63 was first dismantled into all its individual parts and then subjected to a comprehensive performance upgrade in accordance with the BRABUS 900 ROCKET V8 biturbo specification. The path to the targeted 900 horsepower, 315 more than in the standard trim, starts with the displacement increase from the standard 3 cm³ to 982 cm³. This procedure not only includes boring the cylinder bores to 4 millimeters with the help of state-of-the-art machinery: Eight forged pistons with this larger diameter and a special profile are just as much a part of the BRABUS displacement engine as the special crankshaft milled from solid and finely balanced 407 millimeters of increased stroke and the likewise precisely balanced high-performance connecting rods. Each engine is then meticulously reassembled by an engine specialist.

But this revision of the inner workings alone would not generate the desired additional performance. The supercharging system of the V8 has also been completely reworked: the standard superchargers have to give way to two BRABUS special turbochargers with a larger compressor unit and a special core assembly with reinforced axial bearings. They increase the boost pressure to 1,4 bar. Two BRABUS BoostXtra valves provide an exciting blow-off noise during load changes.

The fuel supply has been optimized with special high-pressure pumps. In order to allow the engine to exhale more freely, the exhaust side has also been extensively revised. Downpipes with a diameter of 76 millimeters and metal catalytic converters are just as much a part of this as the BRABUS stainless steel high-performance exhaust system with exhaust flap control. By pressing a button on the center console, the driver can choose between extremely powerful V8 sound in Sport mode or a discreet whisper in "Coming Home" mode.

In order to perfectly coordinate the high-performance components, new maps for injection, ignition and boost pressure control were programmed. For their development, the BRABUS engine engineers and electronics technicians not only used the company's high-tech test benches, but also undertook extensive test drives. This not only results in outstanding performance, but also in flawless stability. BRABUS recommends the quality lubricants from MOTUL. The BRABUS 900 ROCKET V8 biturbo displacement engine establishes the exclusive pick-up among the most powerful representatives of its kind: The peak output of 662 kW / 900 hp is achieved at just 6 rpm. The enormous maximum torque of 200 Nm is already available at 1250 tours. In order to protect the power transmission elements, the torque in the vehicle is electronically limited to 2 Nm.

This means that the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION "One of Ten" can also compete with many thoroughbred sports cars in terms of driving performance: Despite the high vehicle weight, the sprint from 0 - 100 km/h only takes a short time thanks to the perfect interaction with the nine-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive 3,7 seconds. Out of consideration for the tires, the top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h. Accordingly, the BRABUS supercar is equipped with a speedometer up to 300 km/h. But BRABUS supercars not only impress with superior performance, but also with maximum individuality, which is also documented by the "Rocket Gray" special paint finish of the vehicle shown here. Just as the customer can order his car in any color, the interior can be designed according to his own personal wishes down to the last detail.

This is the specialty of the experts in the BRABUS upholstery shop: as a contrast to the exterior color, perfectly crafted BRABUS MASTERPIECE equipment in particularly soft, royal black leather was made for this pickup. It not only impresses with its perfect workmanship down to the last detail with millimeter-precise, coat of arms-shaped quilting on the seats, paneling and footwells, which are also upholstered in leather. As a contrast to this, there are decorative seams that take up the bright red of the bodywork elements. In addition, a total of 206 cockpit elements from switches to speaker covers and air vents as well as all panels were glazed in "ROCKET RED". Another BRABUS specialty is the ambient lighting for the air vents.

Highly sporty accents are set in the cockpit with high-gloss sealed carbon elements. This also includes the BRABUS RACE shift paddles on the steering wheel, with which the automatic transmission can be shifted manually, or the grab handles in the interior. Carbon door sills with illuminated BRABUS logo, which changes color in line with the ambient lighting, are just as much a part of the pickup interior as aluminum pedals and door-lock pins.

In the rear, the passengers can make themselves comfortable on two individual seats with numerous comfort functions such as multi-contour adjustment, memory and integrated seat ventilation and heating. The BRABUS center console was placed between them, which is perfectly integrated into the luxury interior in black leather and carbon. Their extendable tables invite you to work with a notebook or tablet or serve as a base for reading a book or magazine.

Also integrated into the console is a 4,3-inch BRABUS Touch Control Panel, which displays an analog clock face with BRABUS P 900 illustration in standby mode. Not only can this be used to adjust the seats: it also allows the COMAND system to be controlled, with which, for example, the sound system can be made quieter, louder or even muted from the rear. The reading lights in the rear are also switched on or off in this way. The integrated USB multimedia interface connects a smartphone or tablet to the COMAND system and charges them at the same time. For physical well-being, there are not only two cup holders in the center console, which can either cool or keep drinks warm. There is also an integrated cooler compartment that can be accessed from either seat.

The BRABUS instrument console, which is harmoniously integrated into the roof liner, has two round touch displays on which the passengers can find out about speed and rpm, outside temperature and G-forces as well as the time and date.
